What ever happened to Mukhtar Ahmed?

Apologies for my ignorance but where is mukhtar ahmed these days? I would have thought his game would be suited to the PSL and at least one of the teams would have taken a punt on him.
 
He was pretending to be a batsman but the act couldn't fool most people for long enough
 
I still believe he has massive potential and can play a Sharjeel sort of role for us; I was a massive massive Sialkot fan previously so I will forever have a soft spot for Nauman, Mukhtar and Bilal Asif........

Our coaches at NCA have proper Dehati mentality and cannot groom a youngster to save their lives :facepalm: had any other professional setup had players like these, they would have made them into proper power hitters such as Roy, Roscow, Pollard etc etc.

We annually lose high potential players at a massive rate just because PCB can't do their jobs correctly :sanga :livid: :livid: :livid:

Nauman is starting to get back on track again.
 
Was dropped just after 2 failures.

If the likes of Shehzad and Akmal can get countless games, why could not he?

It wouldn't have made a difference. His game's not polished enough to succeed internationally at this stage. He's lacking basic fundamentals.

Forget about those two, why can't he get a psl contract over the likes chaca Rafat or Asad Technique? So what if Muhtkar is a hack? This is a hacks game and his treatment is truly baffling

This guy can be an absolute superstar if he's coached and polished properly. One of the few blokes going around in domestics who can clear 90m without any problems whatsoever.

Heres to hoping he finds his MoJo back.....

Yeah, absolute beast at striking. Had we any decent coaches, Sharjeel and Nauman would've been opening for us. They'd wreck teams.
 
There are plenty of duds in the PSL who will never and have never amounted to anything in this format. Hack he is, but hacks have their value in T20s.

Similarly, Nauman hasn't done much since his breakthrough tournament, but he has potential in Limited Overs and should be playing.

That's why it's necessary to have a 6th team. Preferably Sialkot, who deserve the recognition given their success in T20s. Would like to see the main Sialkot players play for them like Mian, Haris as well as the said two players.
 
Same old story, tagged as a hack...discarded. Happened to Sharjeel as well, how wrong was the PCB!
 
He averages 32 after 6 games. If we take out his 83 then its 23 after 5 games with a SR of 143.

How did the arm-chair experts here figure out that he was ''found out''?
 
Hack, but LOIs are for hacks now.

He didn't have the game to consistently do well, but I'm sure he can improve.

These sort of hacks should be ENCOURAGED - that's how LOI cricket WORKS now . PCB and local coaches still have 80s and 90s mentality.

Wow this guy is a butcher. I wonder how Pak selectors missed him for our T20 games. How can you prefer Shehzad over this guy? Unbelievable.

More seriously, as I mentioned in the "notable performances" thread his quick wrists and timing made it look effortless. Was clearing the boundary with ease. Has clearly developed his game, especially on the offside. Him and Awais Zia are a brutal opening partnership for FATA. Shame our PSL franchises lack imagination.
 
He was unfairly discarded in t20s its the format where he has potential the ability to hit big and give quick starts is his forte.

I dont know if he do this consistently but he seemed real good with his striking. Was picking up shots from spots where Pakistanis usually dont score much.

This hitting against Sohail Khan reminds me of Afridi against India in 2005, where he scored that 45 ball 100. Ridiculous hitting to one of the best bowlers in the PSL last year.
 
What can I say when players like Rafatullah, Shariq, Anwar, Shehzad, Akmal .... keep getting countless chances

ah yes the Kanpur Massacre. (thats what we called it on PP back in the day lol) Brutal from Mukthar here but Sohail Khan looked abysmal. I mean his run up was all over the place and he was bowling utter garbage!! deserved to get smashed.
 
Why is Sohail Khan bowling length deliveries ? Asking to be hit.

Good timing from Mukhtar however, some clean hits.

I can't say what SohaiL khan is going through as a bowler based on a few clips but his hairstyle looks really good!! Maybe some hair rebonding has gone in process :))

These same people are also the ones who cry that we don't have any "accelerators" in the team and it's full of accumulators.

He needs to be signed up by a PSL team in order to get access to decent coaching.

How good he's looked this tournament. Made a few starts but got out at the wrong time. It was only a matter of time before he scored big.

He has definitely developed his game (especially on the offside). Deserved a PSL contract- hopefully someone is sensible enough to add him to their squad for PSL 3.

Haven't watched this tournament been busy with Uni but the same issues seem to exist. He needs quality coaching and those issues such as defending the length ball, playing with hard hands etc. still seem to be there. He's better than some of the dross circulating the PSL but very little technical work can be done during a one month league stint.

On a side note have you read Richard Stoniers report on the fitness of domestic players in Pakistan?
 
Looks fat and unfit and a bit of a tuller. Would be useful in the T20's on some flat surfaces. But I doubt he would last more than five or six overs in a full ODI. Tests is no chance.

fawad doesnt look tailender he is just awkard . mukhtar is hit and miss .karachi whites are worst bowling side,khurram scored ton also . so wont go much into this inning .
 
Surprised that no PSL team picked Mukhtar.

Worth a gamble as he's the sort of player whowhen he does well he wins matches.

If franchises can spend billions on Gayle, this guy might do more in half the money. A Gold contract will be good money.
