The guy was a brilliant striker of the ball and also decent with his slower deliveries and cutters. I’m surprised not to see him around the setup anymore. I know he has injury issues, but he has totally disappeared of the scene.

Played this year in IPL for RCB and was pretty avg performer. He was hit or miss as batsman and pure trundler as bowler. Still has chance to comeback if he works strong on either batting or bowling.

I would still take an out of form Corey Anderson over Faheem with the bat.

And a one-legged Faheem over Anderson as a bowler

But they're not front line bowlers so their contributions with the ball are a bonus and cannot be given the same expectations with the likes of Amir, Hasan Ali, Trent Boult, Southee and etc.

They duo wouldn't make the XI on bowling alone because their perceived asset is their hitting in the late middle order but unlike the overrated Faheem the Kiwi has proven himself in this regard.

He hasn't played for NZ since the Champions Trophy. Didn't think he was that special, very hit and miss.

Very average cricketer. New Zealand batting depends purely on Williamson, Taylor and Guptill. The rest are pure dud. Reminds me of India's top order (Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli)

I'm not going to lie but I think he was a brilliant allrounder, had a good technique and was able to strike the ball relentlessly. Easily one of the best players in the 2015 WC and has also put in good performances for NZ. He just needs to work on his game and make it back into the NZ squad.

His also underrated as a bowler. Was deceptively quick and how can one forget him bouncing out and injuring Shehzad. That was a mean delivery.

My thoughts put in eloquently. Thank you.

He's got kinks to work on but he isn't the finished article yet. He's got improvements to make.

Back injuries troubled him most in last couple of years. Otherwise he is decent batting allrounder.
Jimmy nisham is also another talented allrounder who is just forgotten in international cricket.
Let's hope both make comeback in 2019 worldcup.

CLUB STATEMENT: COREY ANDERSON

Somerset County Cricket Club can today confirm the cancellation of Corey Anderson’s contract for this year’s Vitality Blast by mutual consent. This decision suits both parties at this time and it is hoped that Corey will return to play for the County at some point in the future.

Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry said: “The last few months have not been an easy time for anyone and the challenges of dealing with the impact of the pandemic within cricket have been unprecedented. I would like to thank Corey and his representatives for their transparency and understanding in reaching this mutual decision. It’s obviously really disappointing news to everyone as there was a real buzz around Corey returning to Taunton, however this decision provides Corey and the Club with clarity in a time of uncertainty.”

New Zealand All-Rounder Corey Anderson has retired from International cricket and signed a three-year deal with USA's Major League Cricket (MLC).

Very sad news. I thought of him as equal in potential to Ben Stokes. Breathtaking cricketer with amazing power hitting abilities. NZ has lost a huge asset.

Former New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson has been included in USA's squad for the T20I World Cup 2024. Anderson was a member of the New Zealand team that finished as runners up to Australia in the 2015 ODI World Cup Final. It's exciting to have the opportunity to see him play international cricket once again. He was once a record breaker of Shahid Afridi's fastest ODI century. What a waste of talent!

Hack and extremely inconsistent.

He is a poor man's Jimmy Neesham and Jimmy himself is a poor cricketer.

Lol with Corey Anderson in USA squad they might actually veat Pakistan 😂

Anderson has become such an aloo after moving to the USA. Needs ozempic.

I think he was inspired by Azam Khan.

BTW he is out there to bat now. Let's see if he performs like azam khan or things will be different when it comes to batting inspiration.

‘The sky’s the limit’: USA left motivated by best-ever tournament performance

USA's Corey Anderson points out exactly how his team will continue building towards cricket's top tier.

Veteran all-rounder Corey Anderson was tasked with reflecting on USA’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup campaign, fronting the media after his side’s third successive Super Eight defeat.

The campaign didn’t quite end with the same fizz that it started with. But more time will allow the team to reflect on what was achieved, rather than what wasn’t.

The United States beat Pakistan. They progressed past the initial group stage and announced themselves to the world as a cricketing side that oozes with talent.

It’s a result that will catapult a new wave of inspired talent that will cement USA’s standing, particularly in the shortest format.

“Making it through to the Super Eights was obviously a historic occasion for the USA,” Anderson said after his side went down to England in Barbados.

“Look, (our players are) disappointed. They're hurt. I'm hurt. Your pride's always on the line when you're playing these games and you never want to lose badly or have performances like that. But again, it's looking at the bigger picture of it too … we're beginning to be disappointed about how we play against these big teams and knowing that we can do better. That's a great sign because it means we can give more.”

Anderson is under no illusions that the next step will be difficult – nobody will be taking this team lightly from now on and opposition sides will do all the necessary homework on their players.

That’s a key part of the equation in cricket’s top tier.

“The more we've played as well, the more footage they have on us,” he continued.

“As soon as you get seen and you do a couple of things, everyone starts circling and wondering what's going on, how do we get them out, where are the weaknesses, where are the strengths. I think the guys have probably found wanting a little bit in that regard. But again, it's a great learning.”

The World Cup campaign that Afghanistan have put together can inspire the United States, as they look to continue their rise. Though further along, the Asian side has been on a similar trajectory and just produced a history-making win over Australia, doing exactly the thing Anderson is referring to – Afghanistan did their homework and executed the plan to near perfection.

“We don't get to play against these big teams often or at all,” said Anderson.

“We are still an Associate nation, growing, trying to get a bigger player pool. Any time that we can play against these guys is hugely valuable. We've got extremely good talent in the US, and this was a massive stepping stone in showing that.

“I think the boys can hold their heads high and be proud of what they've done. Because again, I think we've probably turned the world's attention to the US for them to say we're here to play.

“I'm extremely proud of what this team has done this World Cup. The future of USA Cricket looks good. The sky's the limit really.”
