Why is Babar constantly portrayed as some sort of Ricky Ponting?

The statements and hype generated around him makes you believe as if we are axing Viv Richards from the squad?

Let it go, he is finished, your criticism would only make sense in odi or test if I criticised him in 2016-2021.

It doesnt make sense for t20 in any era despite the India 2021 game, nor does it make sense for any format post 2022.

3 years of failing(going into year 4) is alot. In 3+ years, NZ home odi series was the only series he avg 51 in and asia cup Nepal game was his last performance.

Its thanks to his 51 avg vs NZ that the 36 avg, 78 sr is so high.

The real figure is likely around avg 28-32 for the past 3 years.

Very well said. Why would anyone hate a player from the off? We’re Pakistani supporters, we all wanted him to do well. We’ve given him enough rope.

It’s his zid, delusion, refusal to change his game or his role and overall dumbo demeanor that frustrated a lot of us. Add to that the politicking and paid social media nonsense coupled with childish cake cutting, birthday celebrations, you realise this guy is pathetic. I don’t hate him, I pity the fool.

I agree babar azam is finished for last two years...but those talks of B,C teams is rubbish....from 2019-2022 he scored against every attack....I remember he scored 100 vs rabada and Co in 2021 on SA tour, 100 vs Mark Wood and archer during England tour 2019....plus even if its B, C teams they still are professionals with tons of domestic experience, it's not like they pull someone from crowd and made them bowl, 90 percent people here just talking rubbish....the real reason is he is just mentally done...its not about B,C teams...plus there is not second string teams in test cricket...

Maybe play one tip with Safeer Azam and the rest of the gang. New vlog for the channel too.

In ODIs, his most recent century was on August 30, 2023, when he made 151 against Nepal in Multan. He has failed to reach the hundred mark in his last 30 ODI matches.

That 161 against NZ was on Road.. where Williamson scored 200 and Latham Scored 100.. Even Ish Sodhi scored 65 off 180 balls.. reason Babar could nt win a single test at home. Inflated his own stats by asking for Roads but at expense of multiple home Series which we could nt win.

When did he make a century of Note in Test Cricket?

196 in Karachi is not one of them
 
Even when he was in form he was the last guy i wroried about as he is not one of those guys who will hurt you like say Fakhar zaman. He has a ceiling beyond which he cannot go. Even against NZ in a steep chase Fakhar was the one who managed the acceleration while Babar was happy to tuk tuk his way. In other words he was over-rated always.

You know, a couple of years ago, I thought that Babar would score more than 50 centuries in all formats combined. Now, I struggle to see him score 35 centuries. It has been an almighty fall from grace for him.

Fakhar hasn't done anything in t20s, just ODIs

Tbf, Fakhar isn't a dasher like everyone believes.

His sr in odi for the first 25-40 deliveries are Babar and rizwan esc, with the only difference being that he will hit a 6 or multiple boundaries here and their but the score card will always read

15 of 27 or 25 of 40.

The difference is Fakhar after getting set ends up increasing his sr to 100+ and he manages to not just hit a 100, he typically gets a 120-180 at a 100+ SR.

Another difference is that while he rarely attacks from the get go, he has done it on occasions which his 210 vs Zimbabwe, 91 of 46 vs Australia and 123 of 74 vs NZ. While for babar and rizwan it is impossible.

So it makes sense why he struggles in t20 since getting a move on from ball 1 aint his thing.

Yes he is definitely an improvement over Babar and Rizwan bt a long distance. I think of him as Pant like batsman who takes time to set but then can run away with the game like no one else.

T20s are not the best format for them but they can excel in tests and ODIs.

They ruined him in test cricket. PCB is the most incompetent board on the planet.

I respect bcci as a board(excluding theit recent antics lol) but in terms of player development they are top tier.

I just have issues with 10 trolls on this forumn. 90% of PP beyond these 10 are solid posters though
 
He really does prioritise t20 it seems. Always ready to play leagues around the world. I don’t care how good or bad his hitting game is in t20s.

He should focus on doing well in his test #4 position.
