What is something that you've done that made you question your own intelligence?

Me and my friend both worked part-time at FreshCo. I was in the basement on my lunch, started dancing for creating a Snapchat streak... turns out that the manager was watching us through the security camera. We both got fired on the spot.

I still cringe thinking about it. :danish

That's really dumb from the manager. Was he desi? If you were clocked off lunch and in the basement and not in the view of customers so I don't see why it's an issue.

I think you should be questioning your intelligence for doubting your intelligence based on getting fired for something you shouldn’t have.

LOL. Manager must be out of his mind if he fired you for something so little. Maybe there were other reasons for firing you that you aren't entirely aware about:wahab2

Yeah, he was Indian. He was a nice guy though, I don't hold anything against him. By this point I had already told him that I was looking for a better job because I didn't like the shifts that I was being given.

This reminds me during the summer of my first year at uni I didn't get an internship in my field so figured I'll do a part-time job and got one as a fry-guy at Five Guys basically working evenings Monday to Fridays. At Five Guys employees can have whatever they feel like completely on the house and the person who was on the fries had to call out and give the order, which led me to interacting with quite a few pretty ladies. Some of them even complemented me on my "foreign" french accent (this scene is set in Montreal). During the mornings I would chill with buddies, go to festivals, and hit the gym for 2 hours (to burn off all those burgers) and in the evenings I would work fries at Five Guys.

BEST. SUMMER. EVER.

How's the married and work life treating you? How is it different than Uni life?

Zoo visit with my younger sister. It is almost closing time and very few visitors are around. We were checking out the snow leopard enclosure. At the sides of the enclosure between some bushes I noticed a wooden fence. The fence was on a big tall wall, however since I was standing on a hill the wall wasn't very high on my side. On the other side of the fence/wall there was a wide and deep trench. The snow leopards were in a straight line behind the wodden fence but resting on the other side of the trench on some rocky hill structur.

So I figured if I climb over the wooden fence into the snow leopard enclosure and stand on the wall while holding onto the fence for support, I would still be in a safe distance from them since there is a huge ditch in between, while being able to brag about my fearlessness.

I did exactly that!

My sister was shouting at me and I told her to stop the shouting and take some pictures. My back was towards the snow leopards and I was looking outside of the enclosure, towards my sister. Then I started feeling even more confident and was holding the fence with only one hand while leaning back posing for the camera. I even invited my sister to come over since it's pretty safe. Thankfully she refused and got angrier.

Finally I came back to the human side of the zoo. It took only a couple of seconds after that for me to realize what I had actually done and started feeling shock waves of anxiety in my body. In my head all kind of nightmare scenarios started playing. What if my foot had slipped? Surely I'd have had fallen into the snow leopard pit and been a goner. What if a snow leopard had actually jumped from the back and tried to attack me. I can't be sure of how far they can jump. I was also embarrassed on my role as a big brother. Initially I wanted to brag to my friends by showing them the photos but the guilt, anxiety and shame was so big I ended up deleting all the pictures on the spot.

Even today from time to time I replay that event in my head and imagine for moment what could have gone wrong.

...

After typing this all up I feel like I have made peace with my past, the fear is gone and now I regret deleting the pictures. What's the point of having such a story with no pics to prove...

Oh no! my daredevil side is taking over again, I am feeling like going back to zoo and see if it's really that dangerous to climb over that wooden fence and pose for just one small photo. Not good!!!

Abhi bhabi jee ko call karke batata hoon....

Thanks! I've been trying to muster up the courage to break the news myself, but its good to have a volunteer do it in my stead.

Falling in love then realised it was like a salty ladu! The thought of falling in love is totally different to actually experiencing it. Good luck to all who can spend their entire life with one person:danish After a while they will understandably not admit how boring it really is. Another mistake I made was to take a job simply because it was so well paid. Did not like it at all neither did I enjoy the company of my colleagues. Made me realise the importance of enjoying your job, it is not just a means of earning a good living.

Falling in love..one of the biggest mistake ever ...

That's probably just infatuation, true love actually takes a lot of time, patience and commitment. You can never truly love a person unless you wake up next to them every morning, look at their bloated face without make up, signs of drool, hair all messed up etc and say "you know what, I love this person".

So, congratulations on finding your true love.
