My personal ranking depending on the my belief which event had the best competitive matches :-

  1. 2000 Kenya
  2. 2017 England
  3. 1998 Bangladesh
  4. 2004 England
  5. 2002 Sri Lanka
  6. 2013 England
  7. 2006 Bharat
  8. 2009 South Africa

2000 tournament to me remains the OG. When I think of the history of the Champions Trophy and why it became the mini World Cup that it is today, my memories always take me back to the Knockout tournament in Kenya. Yuvi’s debut, Tendulkar taking down McGrath, Chris Cairns final century.

That is still my best memory. Yuvi's debut. Chris Cairns blitzkreig in the final. I totally missed all the other CTs until CT2013 final.

1998, Sachin Vs Mcgrath ..
2002- Kaif vs Zim
2000- yuvi vs Aus, Dada back to back100s, Anwar back to back 100s both teams lost lol

Insane how much I don’t follow cricket anymore lol

Sachin vs McGrath was 2000 as well

Another match on the verge of being washed out.

This is unfortunately turning into a forgettable tournament.

Another washed out game.

Poor drainage system at Gaddafi stadium.

Although I started watching cricket in 2000/01. The only one that is memorable to me is CT17, for obvious reasons. Winning champions trophy by beating India in the final was the stuff of dreams.

I can’t really remember much about any of the others so can’t rank them. But this one is no 1, standout, a memory to hold on to.

2004 and 2017 are the only good ones.

naah 2002 and 2013. this one is great too.
2002 final got rained out and trophy got shared, and barring a handful of matches most of the matches were very one-sided. 2013 I didn't enjoy it because of atrocious performance of Pak team but I can understand an Indian fan enjoying that tournament.

@Savak

Understandable that fans are disappointed the home team is out of the tournament but given that fans have been deprived of top quality international cricket for so long , I expected better then our in the games still left to be played in Pakistan. But it’s an empty stadium today unfortunately with two major teams playing.

I wonder what the sponsors are thinking looking at this.

Hate to say it things worst ICC tournament ever so far on the basis of fans participation only, forget about the arrangements and all which is a new concept anyway we never used to even discuss about such things like arrangements. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka hosted tournaments in the past and filled the stadiums. When you see a stadium full of fans , architecture and amenities etc don’t matter to those watching on TV.

yup. same here. This tournament never deserved any hype. Never had any hype until India met Pakistan in the final.
tbh this is a hypeless tournament.

no one in india particularly cared about 2002. the 2004 series wins in pak had more noise.

2013 was nice but that was cause it was a new team coming after two tough years post 2011. emphasis was still on overseas test series and world cup.

after 2017 when pak won they hyped it ups so much cause that's the only odi thing they have won in 30ish years lol.

good for us lol cause now that elevates both 2002 and 2013 wins.

and this 2025 win holds more significance cause o/w we would forget it like the asia cup wins.

ind-sa semi in 02 was great.

all the six matches india has won to win a trophy have been tight.

4 went to last over - 02 semi, 07 final, 13 final, 24 final

83 and 11 also had jitters till a point.
