What now for Iftikhar Ahmed?

Iftikhar Ahmed scored just 8 runs off 15 balls and bowled 1 over for 16 runs without taking a wicket for Rangpur Riders against Rajshahi Warriors in the 21st match of BPL 2026.
 
As we gear up for the do-or-die WT20 match against Sri Lanka today, I can’t help but feel the absence of Iftimania quite keenly. His presence would have been just the boost we needed at number 4, especially when facing those formidable Sri Lankan spinners. It’s tough not to imagine how his aggressive style could have really turned things in our favour and lifted the team’s spirits.

Let’s hope the rest of the squad steps up and gives it their all tonight. It’s certainly going to be an exciting match!

You know Iftimania has a regret that he wasn't played at the top even though he was a top order batter in domestics. He wanted to open to be specific! Seems like no one in Pakistan wants to play in the middle order

You are right ifthi chacha is way better then Babar Azam . He should have played this worldcup , might play a big role to win this match against srilanka with better run rate to reach semifinal. His ability to clear ground vs spinners is way good.
 
Yet again, “Houston, we have a problem”. What a pathetic middle order, it’s a joke with the captain being the lead joker!
 
clutch all-round performance in the context of the match, but people shouldn't forget he's like 50 and was finished two years ago
 
Probably goes to show how poor the standard has gone of the PSL if out of all Chacha Ifti comes onto the scene and takes 7 wickets in the last 2 games.

I haven't been watching the PSL much this year due to the timing and the scheduling has been abysmal with not many double headers on weekends. Do try and follow the scores though as and when I remember!

He was a decent bowler Criminaly underused by Babar in international
 
He’s bowled accurately with subtle to no spin in his bowling.

However, his time has come & gone. Arafat Minhas & Saad Masood should be blooded as the next spin bowling all rounders.
