First, let me start by saying no disrespect to you people. But, I am literally sick by these useless matches where one team is eating the other alive.
I can't even recall how many useless matches and series I have come across over the past year or two.
There has been a time where I even used to watch some Zimbabwe, but now I just can't follow SL and BAN even on CI.
Pakistan has been the same for some years but, they came back strongly. Pakistan has its own issues. Not playing at home, no IPL, no cricket with India. But still they reached 2011 SF, 2012 SF, Won Aane do series, won the CT, A GAINT in tests until 2016. Drew in England in 2016 and 2018.
But they went down from 2012-2016 in LOIs. Then what next? They come back strongly. And me being an Indian I would say Pak has a chance in most of the ICC tournaments.
West Indies, again like Pakistan has their issues with players tho, but won 2 T20 WCs, now improving leaps and bounds in Tests. It's just a matter of time before they come good in odis, once they sort out the issues with players and hire few decent spin consultants.
But, BAN playing cricket from decades, years of BPL but same old story. Their fans saying Shakib is best AR, Tamim best opener, Mushi is best WK batsmen but, output is NULL .
SL is going down like no tomorrow, yes have been good in tests at home, but joy is for a very short time now, as Hearth will be gone. Yes you have lost Sanga, Dilshan, Malinga, Mahela but, where is the backup?
Why no bench strength? Same Perera who's neither a bowler nor a bowler is leading the attack.
To add insult to the injury, I even don't like to know their players nowadays. If anything it's same Perera, Silva, Fernando, Kusal, like really? I can't even know whether he's same Perera/ Kusal/ Silva making a comeback or a new player.
I can accept defeats from Scotland, Afghanistan and Ireland, as they're trying to improve.
I can ignore Zimbabwe as they're a nothing team nowadays, isolated by Intetnational boards and rightfully so
But what about Sri Lanka and Bangladesh?
Either they should be so bad like Zim to be ignored by the international community or be competitive atleast like Pakistan and West Indies. Alas, they are neither.
These two teams just want to play a lot of matches and "just play".
Its been nearly 4 years since the SL greats have gone and SL is still in the building stage. Its been decades of cricket for Bangladesh and is still trying to figure out how to be competitive. Now don't say u reached QF in 2015 and SF in 2017, we all know how and what it was.
What irks me more is that these 2 teams want to play 3 match test series and 5 matches odi series. Which is just like asking ur enemy to give u a slow death, rather than finishing with 2 match test and 3 match odi series.
One serious question. Can anything be done to solve these useless one sided series after series?, or we have to just accept the truth and move on.
