Juventus tell Manchester United they are interested in signing Paul Pogba

Juventus have made contact with Manchester United to see whether they would consider selling Paul Pogba this summer.

The Serie A champions are keen to sign a world-class midfielder before next season starts and they were initially looking at Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and made an offer of €60m (£53.2m) last month but ended their interest in the Serb when Lazio said they were holding out for €90m.

The Turin side, who are looking for a new manager after Massimiliano Allegri departed after winning his fifth consecutive scudetto, have now turned their attentions to Pogba. They have made United aware of their interest in the French midfielder, who played for them between 2012 and 2016.

Pogba has indicated that he would be happy to rejoin Juventus, where he still has a great relationship with Fabio Paratici, the sporting director, as well as several of the players. Juve are now waiting to hear from United whether there is an opportunity to sign Pogba and, if so, at what price.

Juve are not in a position to pay the £93.2m Pogba cost when he joined the Premier League side in 2016 and could try to include a player, possibly Paulo Dybala, Alex Sandro or Douglas Costa in a deal.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival from Real Madrid last summer for €100m means that the club will have to offload some players if they want to invest heavily in new signings.

They are hoping that the current Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, will take over from Allegri. The Italian has told Chelsea he would like to return to Serie A with Juventus and it is now up to Juve to make a formal approach for the 60-year-old.

Sell him if they can agree a decent fee. No one will pay anything near what Man Utd bought him for. Another ridiculous signing by a club living on past glories.

So much attention on him - should really be let go

Get rid off him. The guy has a massive ego (unjustifiably) and his attitude stinks.

I love Pogba. But he’s not what Manchester United expected to be on the pitch, They needed a player who would lead the next generation and be able to make the players around him better than they actually were.

Unfortunately he cannot do that because some of the players currently playing for Manchester United well, Less said. The better. He’s a luxury footballer, Can only play alongside players who are equally good or better than him. You can say he’s arguably been the clubs best player since his comeback in 2016 but he deserves better and has ambitions which he wants to achieve. He’s 26 years old, In his prime, A World Cup winner. Knows he deserves better too so it’ll be best for both Manchester United and him too leave.

Manchester United tried a new approach in recent years, Big names, Big contracts, Players who had fantastic seasons in their respective leagues across Europe. That however, has not worked at all for them. So it’s time for them too do what they used to and this is what I believe will help the club get back to the top and that is getting some of the best players in the premier league from the lower teams.

Ruben Neves, Toby Alderweireld, Aaron Wan Bissaka, James Maddison and I’m sure most United fans would even take Vardy over Lukaku!

Paul Pogba: Man Utd midfielder has agenda against him - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Paul Pogba has "never been a problem" and there is an "agenda" against the France midfielder.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has said the 26-year-old wants to leave United and hopes "there will soon be a satisfying solution for all parties".

Pogba, who is on the club's pre-season tour, said in June that "now could be a good time to move elsewhere".

Solskjaer says the club have not received a bid for any player.

In his first pre-season news conference in Perth, Australia, Solskjaer made reference to a video of £89m record-signing Pogba and team-mate Jesse Lingard that was reported as a bust-up between the pair.

"It's an agenda against Paul, he's a great, great professional, never been any problems, he has a heart of gold," said the Norwegian.

"Jesse and Paul yesterday walking around was portrayed as a fight between the two boys and I know you're here to sell players and stories but they're all professional.

"Paul's never put himself out of the team, always given his best and I can't report anything other than that agents talk all the time.

"I can't be sitting here talking about Paul and what agents are saying, we've got a few years left of his contract and he's been fantastic."

The biggest problem for United is Pogba is perhaps their most valuable player as well as their best player.

Selling him would give them money to reinvest in other areas of the team where they are lacking but they have been very poor in the transfer market. They have generally overpaid in the last few seasons. Again selling Pogba frees up cash but it is a risk as you dont know how good the next players that come after him will be. From United perspective they have enough money to reinvest in the team without selling Pogba and they can recoup enough money from the sale of Lukaku as well. Re-building around Pogba would be far more ideal than losing him.

However, from Pogbas perspective he is a World Cup winner, one of the best CMs in the world, it is pretty obvious he would want Champions League football and to be in a team who is fighting for the top position in their respective league. I think he goes to Real but in Uniteds perspective they are better off keeping him.

as a MU fan i will be open to selling him due to his attitude and ego problems, but no way will i let him leave for a bargain like what juve and RM are offering. I belive the club are open to selling him too, because if they were not they would have been asking for something ridiculus like £250m+, therefore a fee in the region of £160-180m seems like a reasonable offer that they will let pogba leave for, which this summer barc, rm or juve can not afford.

The price they want for such an overrated player is ridiculous. No one in their right mind will pay near £200 million that they want. They've no choice then to keep him if no one meets their demands.

Keep him, it's not like United can attract anyone better. If they want to win titles, they can't lose players like Pogba. They must build around him, buying players like Fernandes and Koulibaly. But that's never going to happen is it?

Paul Pogba likely to leave Manchester United in the summer

Paul Pogba is likely to leave Manchester United this summer with Real Madrid and Juventus both chasing the midfielder, according to Sky in Germany.

The 26-year-old France midfielder would prefer to join Zinedine Zidane's side in Spain, per the same source.

United want to keep Pogba at least until the end of the season due to a lack of replacements available on the market in January.

But a summer deal will be difficult to conclude for any club, with United understood to want a fee in the region of £150m for the World Cup winner.

There is also a complex relationship between the club and Pogba's agent Mino Raiola, who brought him back to Old Trafford from Juve in 2016.

The player, who was a United youth graduate, also signed a five-year contract when he rejoined that contains the option to extend it by a further year until 2022.

Pogba said last summer that he was thinking of leaving the club for "a new challenge" and Raiola also said "everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on" - but a transfer did not materialise.

Any deal for the figures United are understood to want will be hindered by Pogba's lack of appearances. He is presently recovering from an ankle operation and will not be back until after the winter break.

So far this season the midfielder has made just eight appearances in all competitions - six at the start of the campaign and two more in December after a 10-week lay-off due to an ankle problem.
