What was the last thing you ate?

Oxy™ said:
So before you make fun of people who over-eat, do ask the receipient of your 'abuse'' whether they have a disorder, or whether they are just fat, gluttnous *******?

Unless your binges last hours and days, I think its fair to say that the recipients of my abuse simply over eat. If they do last that long, then its also fair to say that an apology from me is in order. Let me know.

You also should look into the lengths and dangers the anorexics and bulimics go thru.

"The main types of eating disorders are anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa.1 A third type, binge-eating disorder, has been suggested but has not yet been approved as a formal psychiatric diagnosis"

Basically its not in DSM-IV yet. So till it gets there, oxy, its simply gluttony
(kidding now.)

I'm not looking for an apology - just exposing the hypocrisy that exists when sympathy is dished out, the skinny female is the one that gets it, and the fat bloke/woman is universally mocked - as you and others have demonstrated.

As expected of course...

People who over eat simply because they like food don't have always have a compulsive eating disorder....

No, don't confuse the issue oxy. One has a disorder, the other has yet to say/prove/suggest that he has. Making fun of over-eating, is different from making fun of a disorder. I always have disliked people who over-eat and people who under-eat without it being a disorder. Particularly the fat ones because they tend to go all soft on you for being called fat. Politically correct to call someone skinny/slim but God forbid if youc all a fat *** fat ;)

I suppose making fun of a guy suffering from lung cancer due to a habitual 60-a day smoking habit is acceptable?

No proven disorder - addiction YES, but then food is addictive (unless you chose to puke it back out)

there is also gluttony, which is simply liking your food more than some others. you seem to have glossed over that. food is not addictive, its a need but addiction is different.

who made fun of that guy? i am not aware of that one.

No one - but I'm just wondering whether I could get away with it -(and there are hundreds of thousands who die of smoking ever year)

Technically, this is a thread about 'last thing you ate', not eating disorders - nor 'last thing you ate and then puked out 4 mins later'....and the Saudis are asking for my support v Ukraine:)

In that case a wrong example. Smoking, excessive smoking is not really a disorder Oxy. Anorexia and Bulemia are. So make fun for all I care.

Do you starve yourself to death as well?

Na uh, whole milk all the way ~ tried skim once, almost threw up, it's nasty. I felt like someone filled a glass that had previously been used to drink milk out of with water :31:

Nopes, though I am the same size as Mona, I have different mechanisms of keeping it ~ Im just active ~ I walk A LOT, and I always take the stairs even if Im going up to 10th floor, a good workout ! That's my secret ; )

So you are disgustingly slim as well.

Hardly.
If you gained weight, what would you do?

In the impossible event of, I'd probably ditch the chocolates/brownies/cookies/chips and other such food that comprises my routine for a couple weeks and work out.
I tried to adopt a regular work-out routine, I realized I can't. I just stop after couple days. :29:

Based on the postings in this thread, she has a very balanced diet - and loads of excercise - basically, keeping slim the NATUARL way - no 'disorders' here.

Honestly, I can't tell the difference between skimmed and normal milk. I just drink out of whichever carton is open.

Just had some fries, with chat masala. And a few nuggets.

I cant drink normal milk - have to have milk with the 'lactose' removed - called Lactolite. Have it on my cereal, but cannot drink milk on its own. Semi-skimmed is what is used in my house - Green packaging

I had a GIANT bun with melted mozzerela and cheddar cheese; and half a roti with daal

actually binge eating also takes place cause of excess production of a hormone (forgot the name) that triggers hunger.

No, they are fat, greedy, gluttonous and probably dirty and smell!

actually oxy, some are and do. but there is a medical condition as well and not all over-weight people suffer from that.

Watch out, theres a 'lotaa' about :D

I burned it all off with hour of 5 a side..

I see its been an intresting day here..

This is my take..

If someone has a DISORDER - keeps throwing up..cant eat etc..fair enough.

If this is the case..the person should see a GP..and if he/she hasnt, thats his/her own fauly..no sympathy at all..and then complaining about it etc

If someone DOESNT have a DISORDER and is puking up food just to get SLIM..That's plain stupid.

:)

This documenatry that I saw on Anorexia - this lady aged about 25 weighed herself every 5 mins - was thin as a rake - would hold on to ther bone and call it fat, and call her self a whore for being so fat - she just wanted to be thin because thats what the stars looked like! She counted her cornflakes one by one in the morning, and didnt use any milk - then worry that she had eaten too many cornflakes! FREAKS!

Thats a little harsh yaar, sometimes a person feels they cannot turn to anyone for help, even their own family. Why then should they have the courage to go to a GP, who to them is less familiar than members of their family. A disorder, whether it be eating in anorexia or psychotic in schizophrenia is very complex and a lot of people simply believe what the media might say or what others might say.

Until you study it in great depth and with hindsight do you appreciate the complications surrounding them.

Oxy yaar I wouldn't call them freaks. I believe thats going too far. Fair enough their behaviour does look and sound abnormal to you but I don't think its right to call such unfortunate people freaks.

I rather like Raz's views here. Probably one of the more sensible of the lot here.

and what's wrong with forming your views based on some fluff eating disorder documentary?

this supposed addiction to food...

though i don't quite understand it, seeing as how there's more enjoyable addictions available

In the immortal words of the Pig in Animal Farm, all addictions are charming but some addictions are more charming than others

Sandwich and WHOLE milk ~ I like whole milk, the rich creamy thick texture of it, yum.

Best milk is straight from the cow/buffalo in Pakistan; for all you city-slickers who have never tried it, it's really good !
