Mickey Arthur reckons that Pakistan will win if they play well.
That's quite a caveat though

Hmm . After watching Steyn bowl recently and the way Pakistan have played I can't think of any result other than 3-0 SA.
Where did you see Steyn bowl?
Pakistani bowlers have always struggled against Smith, Amla, Ab, but 2 of them aren’t there and 1 is out of form. I back our bowlers to knock’em down and if Faheem plays we’ll have a longer batting line up which will dismantle the overrated Rabada.
Alright. Please be here at the end of the series brother.![]()
I wasn’t wrong with the Nz series predictions and I’m certain i won’t be wrong with these predictions too.
This will be the real outcome of upcoming series3-0 with 2 defeats by innings
If Pakistan was going through a great run I would have backed them to win one test at the least and lose 1-2 overall as is customary for Suncontinental sides to capitulate in RSA on their seaming tracks.
But they are in fact going through a very bad run. Sorry if it sounds bad i am expecting some serious thrashing and it would take some effort to avoid a whitewash.
South Africa on the other hand might just have slightly improved from where they were last time India played them.
Good thing for Pak is that most people have written them off. This is when they play their best cricket.
Its not like we are toothless. We have Abbass, Yasir, Babar, Fakhar. These guys are capable.
This “we are at our best when we are written off” is just another myth associated with Pakistan cricket.
We have been written off in places like Australia for decades and we continue to prove why that is the case.
All this cornered tigers nonsense is just foolish romanticism to deflect attention from the fact that we cannot beat the top teams regularly, and we cannot do that because we are not good enough.
Since we are an average team, we are not expected to win against better sides. However, if we win the odd game, it does not mean that we are cornered tigers or that unpredictable or mercurial bla bla crap.
Those are just buzzwords for not being good enough to win consistently, and it is nothing to take pride in.
Having said that, upsets in Test cricket are very hard to achieve. It is not about having one good day or one good period of play; you have to outperform your opponents over 5 days and we cannot do that with our rubbish batsmen against the best pace attack in the world (along with Australia) in their conditions.
Our bowling itself is ordinary - Yasir will hardly be a game changer in South Africa even if he bowls well, Amir is well Amir, Hasan is decent at best. Shaheen is too inexperienced and Shadab and Faheem are so overrated.
We have put all our eggs in Abbas’ basket for this series, and although he has been excellent and should be able to utilize those conditions, we should not forget that he is only 12 Tests old and the New Zealand batsmen showed that he can be neutralized.
In terms of taking wickets, he was completely ineffective against them. The South African batsman may as well blunt him because of the Philander factor. Nonetheless, even if he does well, it is not going to change the outcome of the series because of our deplorable batting.
3-0 to South Africa it should be, and 3-0 it will be. Any other outcome, be it 2-0 or 2-1 to South Africa, would be an achievement for this third rate team.
Don’t even think about 1-1 or 1-2 to Pakistan, because that would rank amongst the biggest achievements in history of Pakistan Test cricket.
It's amazing how unfair we are on our bowling attack, time and again. The batting continues to be useless for pretty much every game, yet the only aspect keeping this team competitive is the bowling attack.SA should be disappointed if they don't win 3-0. The middle order is no doubt weak but they have still got two good openers for SA conditions and bowling is still one of the best in the world.
It is SA bowling I will bank on and Pakistan batting is terrible to say the least.
The only thing SA should be wary of is a couple of random spells of Pakistani fast bowlers which at times can be so destructive that can rip through the SA batting lineup.

I see more blessings without disguises coming Pakistan's way.
Agreed. Finall Sarfaraz will step down. And I hope that Rizwan will replace him as the preferred keeper batsman. He seems to be in good List A form. No idea if he can replicate that in tests but surely he has got to be better than Sarfaraz with the bat.
Second thing to look forward to is finally both Imam and Shaan will be discovered as being completely useless. Might be that the door to test cricket finally gets shut on their faces.
Pakistan 3-0. Anything less against this weak SA team will be disappointing.
