What's the point of posting a picture of your family member on Twitter and then hiding their face?

I understand that Junaid is sensitive about sharing a picture of his spouse but is there any point in doing this ie hiding their face? Why post the pic at all?

It's a tricky one.

I guess people want to show that they are close and involved in their family, but it does look odd when you cover their face with an emoji.

I think it would be hilarious if the emoji used to hide the face was a cry emoji :ashwin

Pakistani culture of hiding the female :)

The assumption by the men of our society is that other men have ill thoughts about females which is why they believe pictures should be hidden.

Infact, often I witness that if you bring some electrician or any outside person into your home, the men in the house first make sures to hide the females or confine them to an area where the visiting men cannot see them. I think its from such tradition this has transpired to social media of hiding picture of females.

I’ve seen this quite a lot recently. Odd.
