What's the reason for dominance of spinners in T20Is?

I guess one thing is that with shorter boundaries even some bowls really fast and player edges it or hits it but not well enough it will still go for a boundary

We're as with spin the pace is taken off the ball ,

Spinners to go for runs as well but because the overs are shorter compare to the other formats most batsman attack spinners and end up getting out either by catch stumping and bowled

You’ve still got to be a good bowler. Otherwise there is no reason why a spinner can’t go for 5-6 sixes in an over, a bit like how Ben Dunk was ending some spinners careers in PSL this year

It's the nature of the game - you have to go after the bowling. Also, the quality of spin play has gone down considerably - most of the batsmen these days try to swing bat with brutal force rather than using foot work against spinners. It works often for the quality of bat these days and the size of T20 boundaries, but it makes batsmen more vulnerable as well. I believe spinners are getting lots of wickets which making their average & Strike rate better, but don't think their economy is that good.

AND FINALLY - apart from PAK, I am not sure which other team consistently plays their top pacers in T20s, for the work-load balance. PAK played Shaheen in all 3 T20s after a 3 Test series, which is unthinkable even for associates to be honest - this means, average quality of pacers in T20 is lower than spinners for respective countries. Had every team picked their first choice pacers for every or most games, I am sure this table would have been different, but still spinner will always dominate T20s for the nature of the game.

There was a discussion on this between Bish, Moody and one of the Cricviz guys and Moody said that coaches found it hard to find areas to score quickly for spinners who bowl quick and short like many of these guys do. Only exceptional batters like an AB could really attack them successfully.

Good point raised.

Hardly any top test class fast bowlers play regularly in T20s. Most top teams.play ****** panjoo type Pacers in T20 bilaterals and only go bang bang in tournaments.

Batsmen cannot easily line up quality spinners. Leg spinner for example will not just bowl a leg spin as his stock ball. Some of his leg spinn will turn a lot, some less, some medium, some will bounce higher, some will stay flat, some will come quicker, some will come slower and some will be flighted and some will be darted. Now that is just nearly 10 different variation of leg spin alone. Now he can also do that for Googly. This is why spinners are hard to attack on constant basis.
