Probably the batch of 2024 which Include Ali , Ubaid and Zeeshan and now 2026 batch of Ali , Subhan and Seyam. And before that I haven’t seen any U19 team of any nation having 3 pacers capable of hitting 140k in a single batch, at most we see one 140k bowler and two 135k ones but never 3 in any team since 2004 Worldcup.

Your thoughts?

India had 2. Nagarkoti and Mavi both hit 145k in 2018 batch. Shaheen afridi batch. Unfortunately niether of them made it to big level. Reserve bowler Arshdeep from that batch made it big.

Before that, when were there 2 U19 pacers who were consistently +140 ?

Prob AUS with Cummins/Starc in the late 2000s/early 2010s ?

For India I think there was Kartik Tyagi with the Umran Malik batch (late 2010s) but if I remember correctly Tyagi was more mid-to-late 130s at U19 level (got into the consistent 140s later). I think Mayank Yadav too got faster at senior level.

Tyagi was the only one. Sushant mishra his partner clocked 135k.

These kids need to have guidance in their initial career stages. Too many times u-19 talent ends up in the wilderness. We need to manage their fitness, nutrition, workload and game time from now.

Shaheen , Hasnain and Musa batch was good too but Shaheen and Hasnain were not 140k back then at U19 level more like 133-138k bowlers.

The last time I saw it was an U19 side featuring Ubaid Shah. He has now surpassed Steve Harmison.

To be honest there was a day and night difference between Indian trio and Pak Trio, it was like we are comparing Suryavanshi talent with Ahmed Hussain talent.

What's most important is: They actually look kids - Ali Raza may be older, but not by much if we compare him and Waqar for age @ under 19 level. PCB acts dumb all the time, but for the first time perhaps, they did not allow age fraud.

Shaheen, Arshad Iqbal, & Musa have all played at the same time & two of them were/are also tall and had a lot of pace. I also don't think that Syam is 140 kph+ bowler, just from the eye test alone he looks like someone who hovers between 132 to 137 max bracket.

It's also not only about speed at this level as most people mature at their own pace and don't fully grow into their bodies until 23-24 so having bowling intelligence and solid fundamentals is crucial. They will lose a few kilometers in pace because the muscles and bones will develop a bit more and initial flexibility will decrease as a result making the shoulder blade rotate slower.

The bowling habits also need to be developed properly. Subhan is losing his height in his bowling deliver, Raza needs to understand how to get batters out, & Syam's accuracy is all over the place. There's no denying there is potential here but what happens in the next two years will determine their long-term career. Raza already has had a couple of injuries so his development is crucial.

Who got injured?
Aditya Rana face lower back stress fracture so they brought Deepesh in. There was one more guy who was supposedly touching 145k is also out with injury. India always carreid atleast one 140kbowler . Last time had none. But that guy could swing. In 2018 they had 2. In 2020 they had 1. In 2022 they had 1. India won in 2018 and 2022 world cup. In 2020 lost final to Bangladesh.

Naman Tiwari could touch 140k and I think he was much better than Kishan who is also a good talent.
