Lets be clear now, these women cricketers from Pakistan are no longer being selected to just make up the numbers. The PCB has significantly increased its investment, resources and support for Pakistani Womens Cricket in the last 7-8 years, they are being paid significantly higher, they have access to same practice and training facilities as men, they are allowed business class travel, they get maternity leave support.
But the PCB keeps sticking to the same bunch of 20-25 cricketers even though this bunch has been losing non-stop left right and centre to all the major teams. These bunch of players are tried and tested failures, they have had enough chances and they just do not have it at this level. There is no pressure on them to improve their game because they know there is no competition.
PCB needs to urgently get out there and get around 200-300 female cricketers in the system to provide some much needed competition to this bunch.
There is right now no demand for a Women's PSL because of the insipid performances from our female cricketers. Is there any one female cricketer in our team who will inspire any female to take up the sport like Smitri Mandhana has done for India?
