This team looks has many weaknesses but biggest weakness for me is lack of fighting spirit

I don’t remember Pakistan playing without complete lack of motivation like this before

Disgusting performance. People should lose their jobs over this shambles

Going to get thumped on Monday also

They have as much confidence in themselves as we have on them so clearly there is no reason to fight against reality.

Pakistan is one of the worst team in the world on current form, and we are this way since good two years. I don't see how this team will have any positivity or fighting spirit.

Agree. Bad days happen, other team can outperform but spirit was totally missing. Even at 6 or 7 down they could have stitched a partnership and tried to get to 200 even if it may not have yielded a win but at least reduced impact to net run rate in a tournament with 1 pool only. Really disappointed to see the shots by Hasan ali when hafeez was still there and the rest on not even trying to play all overs.
Winning and losing is part of game but not seeing a fighting attitude is really really sad to see.

They don't have it. Poor technique against short pitched bowling undermines the confidence, and you can't show fight if you don't know how to do it.

We just have very average players, however despite limitations in skill, you would expect some heart for the fight at least. At least apply yourselves. Absolutely dreadful opener for Pak.

This team is not worth supporting as long as its players do not work hard.

One of the most inspiring aspects about sports is that it is not just about beating others but about maximising one's potential. Sadly speaking Pakistani players have not put in the work to maximise their own potential even though their potential may be much lower that top teams.

It is very hard to support the Pakistani team whose players are neither that talented but more importantly have clearly not maximised their potential. The most representative example of this is a wicket-keeper captain who has a double chin. It clearly reflect the work ethic, professionalism, and aspiration of the team when the captain is not a role model. For these reasons Pakistan's cricket team will continue to lose its supporters even though it is a one fo the few sports where the country plays at the international level. Whereas modern day cricketers aspire to be good athletes, our players have simply not put in the hard yards in practice and still believe in the mantra "we can beat someone on a given a day."

Why would you even expose all the stumps when you have over 30 overs left. All it needed was sensible batting approach. Very embarrassing...

That’s the problem
Pakistan’s lower order has always bailed them out in World Cup matches

We needed moin and Akram today

Agreed. Can’t support a coward team with no brain. Time for the government to think about the salaries they getting from taxpayers’ money.

They went inthe game with defeatist attitude and mentality. You can’t win a game when all you are doing is trying your best not to lose. Massive difference between winning and not losing.

It doesn’t help that the coach and cs know they have already been fired no respect from players PCB is a shambles then all this bull with their wives etc etc no concentration on the job at hand otherwise even a blind man could have told imad wasim to work on his short ball batting a lot

There is definitely something wrong in the camp, I said as much in the thread where Sarfraz was claiming the spirits were high. Most of them looked like them looked like they weren't enjoying the game after about the third ODI against England, maybe because they had no answers.

Regret paying $5 for Willow TV to follow this team. Knew they were bad, but didn't know the extent.

The performances in the last 12 ODI's tell you all is not well in the dressingroom

Fighting spirit only works when players have any potential to be great not from any club level players

topspin, we were told that Sarfraz will leave Pakistan in a good state. :))

When the skipper tells you that they have forgotten 10 games i.e. learnt nothing from it, it sends a strong signal that we are dumb, mediocre, moody, in England to see batiyan and will play nine games jo ukhaarna hai ukhaar lo.

The fighting spirit is not there because they don't care about it. Neither do they look ambitious to move forward in their careers. They look like a bunch who are happy to make the numbers and get little personal toffees.

So disappointed. Was awake for these jokers.CT win has gone to their heads and they became contend

But main players were rested for Australia series in UAE. So that series loss can be discarded from the analysis. In England series before world cup Amir and wahab were absent so that win by England can be ignored. And warm up match against Afghanistan was lost because players were treating it casually

Results will still be same!!!

Bowlers did show fight taking a few wickets. The batsmen are the ones who deserve to be verbally slaughtered. Can't blame the bowlers when the batsmen give them nothing. If you want to be ultra critical the likes of Wahab and Hassan also threw away their wickets.

Feel sorry for those who purchased tickets. I hope they find a way to get their money back for the remaining matches.

Blessing in Disguise for Pakistan, hopefully this will serve as good kick in the backside.... disappointed but hooe for the best .

Yeah 12th blessing in disguise in a row. What will we ever do with these so many disguised blessings.

Mickey and Sarfraz simply need to go. Mickey has failed in every aspect of his role. Sarfraz is an utter embarrassment on and off the field.

[SUB][/SUB]Ok so when things have gone bad today some people are trying to steal previous trophies as well but guess what nobody can change the history and nobody can predict the future.

Agreed, I think this is one of two factors (along with sheer incompetence) and I suspect inside the dressing room, it has a lot to do with Sarfraz. Team playing for him just looks uninspired.

A lot will be revealed after the WC, as you can always someone in the PCB to leak inside information :najam

Pakistan played with equally less fighting spirit in WC15 under misbah until the Ireland and SA game. Game against AUS showed that fighting spirit isnt enough. You need skills as well.

Fighting spirit with no proper planning, skill, selection will not do anything.

Something is wrong in dressing room. Lack of passion and energy. Looks like they just dont care. 30 overs were left and not a single batsman tried to build up the innings.

I think players have accepted the reality that they are not good enough to compete against other teams hence no fighting spirit.

Maybe but just not good enough also

To say the players are completely garbage isn't completely true. It shows the team management has failed in uplifting the squad, this is where a captain and coach is judged when the chips are down.

People will say that the one positive was Amir getting 3 wickets. But actually I'm super angry with Amir. You have 105 runs to defend and this guy comes in and bowls his first over at 81mph. Where is the effort to tell the WI players that I'm here to knock you out? All his wickets were generous wickets. No way would he get wickets had Pakistan bowled first. This bowling attack is worse than toothless.

no way one can blame the bowlers here, other than for some mindless slogging and not trying better to play out all 50 overs or close to that. if batting had stuck it out and even managed 200-250, we almost had them 77/4 had Imam taken the catch off Wahab and things could have been interesting even if we ended up losing.

I just feel more than skills, experience, strategy at this point something seems wrong with the team spirit and in particular each individual doesn't seem to be showing the 100% fight till the last ball spirit and support each member + captain spirit. maybe i'm reading too much, but thats my hunch. either that or its just the 10+ defeats are getting to them and putting them off mentally??

Pakistanis are so delusional. Stats speak for themselves. 20 losses in last 24 games. Even HK has a better record.

The CT win was the biggest fluke in the history of cricket. Pakistan has been an awful ODI side for a decade now. We never were good at ODI because our batting approach is still like the early 1990s.

I doubt many of these players realize the importance of NRR, a lot of these guys are not very educated in the first place.

Given the cloudy overhead conditions, I was hoping that they somehow limp to a total close to 210 to 220 and then fight through the bowlers, but Pakistan sadly never looked to be having even plan A, forget about plan B! Looked under pressure as soon as the first wicket fell. What a thrashing like this means is that Pakistan´s net run-rate has been dented very, very badly!

ok even if you forget they being professional international players somehow dont know about NRR, what about just getting to something that can be in the practically defendable terriroty....even 180, 220, something, we pretty much had them 77/4 had the catch been taken off Wahab and thing could have got interesting at least if not close, had the batting put something together.

Coach/Team MGMT/Captain/W.e should have instructed the tail end batsmen to grind it out as best as possible

Our countless collapses in Tests should show that this team has zero fight or backbone. Bunch of sissies.

It's been proven time and time again, guys such as Hafeez are mental midgets. When the going gets tough, he'll be one of the first to cop out. Apparently he was along with Malik supposed to be the backbone, but Malik was dropped and Hafeez bailed as usual. After the top 3, there's no one to come in and take the game on. All thanks to trying to accommodate seniors and friends with no planning.
