Which 2 Australian pacemen would comprise the best or perfect opening attack?

Here I am formulating a list of Australian pace bowling pairs in order of merit which will comprise the best opening attack.I have tried to analyse the best pace bowling combination sto open an attack posessing all the qualities required.


1.Dennis Lillee-Alan Davidson
-Perfect right arm-left arm combination posessing every component of a pace bowler be it pace,movement control or variation.


2.Ray Lindwall-Alan Davidson-
Just a whsiker below Lillee-Davidson because Lindwall lacked Lillee's agression although he had marginaly more overall skill or control.


3Glen Mcgrath-Alan Davidson-
Superb blending of supreme control and movement with pace.


4..Glen Mcgrath-Jeff Thomson-
Perfect mixture of supreme speed of Thosmon with the phenomenal control and accuracy of Glen Mcgrath


5.Alan Davidson-Jeff Thomson

Supreme pace or right and left hander combined.



6.Dennis Lillee-Jeff Thomson-
Hostility in regions of divinty blending sheer speed with sustained movement.



7.Ray Lindwall-Keith Miller

2 Great bowling artists posessing al the attributes of a perfect pacemen.

It's like Mcgrath-Gillespie isnt? Cummins is I think the current version of Gillespie who has pace & bounce along with great accuracy. Gillespie was a very underrated bowler who performed amazingly in India as well. I think Cummins is better than Gillespie & watching what Mcgrath-Gillespie did to other batsmen in their times, no doubt Mcgrath-Cummins would be a nightmare attack for any top order

Gillespie was great but Cummins' accuracy is a level above. Not only does he restrict you, he makes you play every ball which is the most difficult thing to do in cricket. Slight error in accuracy and you'd be dispatched.

If I had a chance to select two bowlers to open for Australia from across generations, I'd take Ryan Harris & McGrath in a heartbeat, followed by the pair of Lillee & Cummins as the second option. Batsmen's nightmare
