We all love our team but as we know they can't play every team at the same time.

I was watching England vs West Indies highlights from about 30 years ago and it just got me thinking about which 2 teams I like seeing face each other.

If I had to pick I would say Australia vs England, South Africa vs Australia, and India vs South Africa. I look forward to these 3 series when Pakistan aren't playing.

How about you guys?

England-West Indies.

For whatever reason these two teams mesh well and have produced some cracking series over the years. West Indies are always motivated to beat England.

The 1991, 1995, 2000, 2015, 2017 and 2019 series were all classics with good contests between bat and ball, and some crazy collapses.

Great mention!

2009.. when West indies were at their lowest they still managed to beat the hell out of the touring English side

Personally, I always look forward for the Ashes - great series with some really good performances generally.

Australia - South Africa also always produces some high quality contests home and away.

All other contests somehow hinge on home conditions and don't really excite me.

Pak-Eng also produces pretty epic contests but can't mention it as I'm not a neutral there.

Any series involving England and India.

1. Ashes

2. Australia vs South Africa (all formats)

3. South Africa Vs England (Tests)

4. Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka (Tests)

I personally find them quite boring.

Both teams are bang average at each other's home and there's a serious lack of friction between the sides. :)

Due to the level of competitiveness as well as the quality of coverage:

1) Ashes
2) Aus vs SA
3) Eng vs SA

We have had some memorable series between these sides over the years.

I don’t mean England vs India only. I meant any series involving England and India.

England v India in England

Love watching the Indians bat like headless chickens against the Dukes ball.

None, I'm only into cricket because of Pakistan. Even that's a stretch these days with the dictator now in charge.

Agree with Kroll

Cricket is so dead without Pakistan, they are the real drama and entertainment value during all of their phases. Probably wont even play cricket if it wasn't for them.

Australia vs South Africa have always been among the most entertaining ones.

Pakistan's best matches or the ones I like are generally against England.

Eng vs india. It will be interesting as eng have many spin options after the rise of dom bess and jack leach.
And if Jofra is not an overhyped fluke, he may be successful in india too. This would make for an interesting series.

Aus vs Bangladesh :) . All non-asian teams struggle in bangladesh as it provides raging turners that are even more spin friendly than indian pitches. It was supposed to happen now if not for Covid.

West Indies vs South Africa Can they beat south africa again to plunge them into further misery? both teams are almost equal. will make for interesting tests

I think the Ind vs Aus sereis willl disappoint many fans as it will be more one sided than expected. India won against a very average aus batting line up. The rise of Marnus and class of smith has made aus one of the best batting line ups.

Ishant, Bumrah and co will find it harder to get Aus out cheaply. Cummins and co were owned by the indian batters. Starc and Hazlewood were in horrible form all of 2018. But now they have gained form and are at their peak.

I am a Bangladeshi by birth & now Canadian citizen .... by the criteria you set, is this really a question I need to answer?

Also these are the upcoming series im looking froward to , not in general.

England vs South Africa in England and vice versa, both teams have done well against each other at their home.

What, are Pakistan and India your favourite teams to see? (Besides Bangladesh) that's what I'd guess based off your posts anyways.

I love to see New Zealand vs India. Always fun to see India getting pounded by NZ whenever they tour NZ

I don't have much interest in cricket outside Pakistan but if I had to pick a series it would be the ashes (in England).

Australia vs South Africa.

I will take any full member series at this time though. #GoRonaGo

England v Aus and England v Ind - both when played in England. Cricket played in England is literally the best to watch. Something very special about the grounds and coverage here.

When India gets thrashed by England however it gets a bit dull. Anytime there is a competitive series in England, I love to watch.

Agreed, the broadcasting makes such a difference to the quality of your viewing experience. As much as I dislike cricket being behind a paywall, Sky are the masters.

This morning I was watching their vodcast on coaching, and it was an in-depth conversation with comparisons being drawn with other sports.

Compare that the rubbish we have to put up every frickin' home season in the form of Ramiz the walking dictionary, captain obvious Waqar, and king of dad jokes Bazid Khan. You simply don't get that same insight. Ramiz probably thinks Billy Beane is a brand of ice cream.

i watch everything of all top 8 teams but i don't watch india's home series which are very boring and I absolutely love it when India gets smashed in SENA countries.

Markhor Yep, agreed - Sky coverage is truly exceptional. Nasser and Athers in particular are awesome. It is such a pleasure to sit and listen to their analysis. That's why although I'm sad that the Pakistan tour of England will take place at a time when I can't actually go and watch (meaning that the next chance to watch the boys live will be years away), I am at the same time very happy that I will get the chance to watch on Sky.

Agree entirely that we Pakistani fans have to put up with awful commentary. Ramiz is a joke and Waqar has about 5 minutes of insight when discussing a fast bowler's action followed by 5 hours of dullness. Bazid I find is the best of the lot but there really is no comparison to the Sky team.
