So which nation is the most talented in terms of churning out cricketers of high quality?
For me, it would be SA and NZ.
South African cricket has been plagued by quota system and previously Kolpak deals yet it never became short of talent. Despite the retirements of ATGs like Steyn, Kallis, Smith, Pollock, Donald, AB etc SA has never for once struggled to put a competitive team out. In addition, South African cricket is probably the one that's been affected the most for player exodus as it has kept providing cricketers to county cricket.
The other pick for me would be NZ cricket solely because of the meagre population it has and yet never seems drained of talent. You could argue that they have a very good development system but I think NZ is the least populated country of the test playing nations yet it has been a consistently good side since the 90s.

Aus and South Africa have a real athletic culture for young kids and across their schooling. They produce players that are quite talented across different athletic fields.

As long as cricket remains even a 4th or 5th placed sport amongst their white populations they will continue to produce talent in numbers.

It’s fair to say India produce the hungriest talent wanting to dedicate everything to achieve their goal. Maybe not the most talented but the players who will come through have worked their socks off through poverty to get where they are.

Aus no 1. South Africa no 2 but their quota system has killed their cricket

They always have to pair a bunch of talents with a bunch of Lanats.

India is weird, as minus Bumrah and a few others like shami they are possibly the worst pace bowling country of all time excluding minnows. However they are probably the best or 2nd best country to produce Batsmen. Solid and talented batters have been produced.

NZ isnt talented but their system manages to bring the best out of their players. Medicore players become Good and good players become great.

It has to be Australia

They produce warriors
Factors that go against them: cricket is one of the biggest sports in Australia. And they've had a long time between Benaud and Warne, and Warne and Lyon where they couldn't produce a quality test spinner. Aus of 90s and early 2000s was probably the most talented domestic bunch of all time. But they've had problems trying to find openers and batters. Even now, life after Smith and Khawaja looks difficult.

But if you take into account NZ's population, what they consistently churn out is fascinating.
India has incredibly high population density and with cricket being the most crazed sport over there, they haven't really produced as to what other nations have going by that metric. Same applies to Pak and Ban. Bang is probably the least talented cricketing nation if we take population and popularity of cricket into account.

Sa consistently produces batters and bowlers, but due to rising of league cricket, their Test stock has fallen.

SA, NZ, OZ

BD last, below PNG, Guinea Bissau, Somalia, Chad, Sudan etc....
What's with this hatred towards Bangladesh 🤣🤣.

Their obviously an untalented nation that are playing cricket dil khush rakhnei kei lyei but everyone seems to have a burning hatred for Bangladesh as if they stole your kidneys and sold them on Ebay 🤣🤣.

@sweep_shot Bro what have you done to these people 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have 90+ Indian users on my ignore list here (including Nish_Fish_Mate).

So, I don't see whether they are hating or loving. LOL.

I am here to interact with Pakistani people. Not Indians. It is a Pakistani platform after all.

Ik, I still find it funny. Out of all nations, Bangladesh lives in their heads rent free 🤣🤣

I am reminded of when Éomer from LOTR quipped - 'I don't doubt the talent of the Bangladeshis, but the reach of their arms.
Bangladesh is an irrelevant nation in cricket. They are their to fill in the numbers and make us happy.

They aren't worth mentioning or stressing.

Which cricketing nation produces the most talent? Australia and South Africa undoutedly.

Australia and South Africa are all about quality.

Another country I want to mention is New Zealand.

Cricket is hardly popular in New Zealand and they have a very small population. But, they keep on producing amazing talents.

Pakistan also tend to produce great pacers.

Austrailia.

But we ve been seeing for quite some time now that indian players are also very much groomed because they have good domestic system and strong school system. Most of the boys are coming through the system and playing amazingly. They said india can field two teams and i am sure they can. Their bowling has always been okayish even their new pacers look good but not great.

India have a population of 1.4-billion+. That helps I guess.

But, I think India is overrated considering their humongous population.

Despite the big population, they couldn't become like ATG Australia or ATG Windies.

No hatred mate, contempt for the nation and their posters.

On topic of derail, surely the other end of most talented is least talented. Not sure why Sweep marasi shot getting in a twist when least talented is discussed as well.

It's all related, maybe needs a few brain cells to joint the dots...

They still have the likes of Du Plooy and a few others who for some reason don't get selected in tests despite averaging in high 40s.

Quota system really hurts South Africa.

Kevin Pietersen and Neil Wagner could've been playing for them but instead they played for other countries.

Australia, South Africa & New Zealand.

These countries clearly have the structure and discipline to allow talent at whatever level to flourish.

Big sporting countries, not just cricket but in my opinion more rugby with a lot of Olympic sports such as swimming, athletics, track & field & etc.

But Strauss was raised in England. Not sure about about Roy. Labuschagne also emigrated to Australia from SA when he was around 11 or 12

Roy was born in Durban, South Africa. I am not sure if he was raised in England but he is a South African.

Anyway, point is South Africa lose a lot of talents due to quota system, internal issues etc. They could've been like ATG Australia if they had everything sorted out.

Historically, the highest talent density was probably Barbados and New South Wales. An all-time NSW XI would have Bradman, the Waugh brothers, Lee, Mcgrath, Macgill, Slater, Steve Smith, Benaud, etc., and probably loads of others I'm forgetting.

If it is purely based on talent, then I would like to bring India in this discussion. Trophy-wise, it is Australia that is bringing talent who likes to win big tournaments.

It has to be between South Africa, Australia and India. These three nations produce the most talented cricketing skills in the game.

Answer is New Zealand. What they produce with limited pool and competition from other sports is matchless and testament to what well defined pathways and boards can achieve.

Over last 15 yrs will give special credit to

1) Zimbabwe - dealing with political and economic turmoil and corrupt adminstration yet remaining somehow relevant only thanks to passion of 40-50 players/coaches/admin guys

2) Afghanistan - Everything Afghan cricket does is an inspiration to the world and shows all fans what passion and . To come from nothing and nowhere and thrill the world truly hats off.

3) Netherlands - Without any star players but with thinking leadership group they have extracted amazing results over last 5 years.

Yes Afghanistan and Zim are great shouts but I don't know if they are the most talented.

In terms of India, it mostly has been batting and spin. They have for elongated stretches of time where they've only had 1 world class pacer in the frame. The era of Kapil, Srinath and Zaheer. It's only been since 2013 that the likes of Shami, Bhuvneshwar and Umesh burst to the scene and Ishant finally shed his demons
