As the title says it,which current players in the Pakistani set up do you think belongs to all formats of the game.

That player is yet to be born....just kidding. At the moment Sarfraz has the attitude to excel in all the formats, but he still needs to work on his game.

None.

Yasir Shah maybe if he is used correctly.
Shadab Khan is a bright talent, looks like a modern cricketer.
Misbah was ok before he started to respect bowlers a bit too much
Afridi was actually a very good Test match player but he just didnt believe it himself

Currently, only Hasan Ali.

Amir, Rizwan and Nawaz are also suitable for all the formats, but Amir and Rizwan need to click at international level, while Nawaz needs more chances.

Amir, and I am saying this based on his potential, not performance.

Rizwan and Nawaz?
Terrible players shouldn't play any format let alone all formats.

From the old generation, MoHa definitely was world's premier all-rounder with his old bowling action, albeit mostly in Asia.

From current generation, Babar, Sarfraz, Amir are definitely all-format player, while Ahmed just a shed question mark. May be Yasir & Wahab could have done as well, but they have tarnished their chances with poor performance in LO version; while Umar should have been PAK's top player in combined format. Another poor fellow is Sohail Khan - his improvement curve apart from fitness & stamina at this age indicates that had he been drafted in 2010 at proper age, he could have been a fantastic No. 8 for all 3 formats.

From the new generation, Shadab & Asghar definitely are 3 format prospect. If he can remain fit, Haris should be in for his bowling in LO (he is good enough batsman for a Test No. 5), while Hasan needs to improve in one aspect to be a Test permanent - either batting to be a Test No. 8 (in that case PAK can play 5 bowlers with Shadab & Hasan occupying 7 & 8), or bowling to be an automatic choice for specialist bowler. Among young batsmen, Talat has a great potential to be Test quality batsman.

Shadab, Amir, Hasan Ali, Babar Azam (weak in T20s), Sharjeel Khan.

Sarfraz, Hafeez, Malik, Rizwan, Saad Nasim, Shehzad are accumulators and DO NOT belong in a good LOI side.

BUT, we're forced to play them as we don't have anyone who can play the modern game.

Apparently harmless but the wrong way of looking at things. We should select the best players for each format.

Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, and Sarfraz Ahmed.

These are the three legitimate options.

I suppose Hasan Ali can be added as well. He deserves a test cap.

Amir, babar, shadab, shehzad, imad , not sure about Sarfaraz his keeping not good enough for test but his batting is . Hasan is not test class yet.

If he works on his weakness he's good enough for all 3 formats IMO.
As Amir Sohail has said the guy has nothing in his game apart from a few ugly cross batted shots.

He is a limited player and doesn't have the capability to handle anything out of his zone.

Should be dropped for good.

I think he's better than what your saying. He seems more focused these days. Let's see what he does in the next few months.

Many are fooled by his classy shots, and I was for a period of time as well.

But if you look deep into his game he is only able to capitalise or score off bowling that's in his zone. Anything out of his zone and he looks like a tail ender.

He's nothing special and it's time to move on and invest in someone else.

For me Champions trophy is the test for these several players...
South Africa and India are the two most important matches for performances, whoever performs in that should play till the next world cup.. whoever fails shouldnt be part of the team.

These players include

Hafeez
Malik
Kamran
Shehzad
Wahab

Apart from Shehzad if these four fail should retire and for Shehzad as he is young if he had a bad outing in Champions Trophy then he should only consider playing leagues around the world and Test cricket if he performs in that..

Problem is these guys perform in domestic and by beat other young domestic stallwards with big margins you can't keep a guy out for long if he performs like that in domestic.
The problem is young openers should perform well in domestic as compared to these guys to remain players like Shehzad out of the team.
But this hasnt happened for the last 2,3 years..

Off the top of my head:

Shadab Khan
Sharjeel Khan :(
Hasan Ali
Babar Azam
Sarfraz

Potential and performance are two performance metrics for me.

Amir potential with no/less performance
Wahab/hafeez lets leave them
Hassan Ali/shadab khan i think no. Because they haven't shown their test match skills.. like hassan ali's strength is slow mixers in between and in test, these variations dont buy you a wicket. Also shadab bowls too much googlies and he haven't prove anything in longer formats and his batting skill was their but in those psl games we havnt seen his defensive game which is essential. Potential yes for both.
Babar azam.. very good prospect but lacks power game.. hope he improves on that.. else he is the best bet he have. I think after the hype he gets, i am too critical on him.

Sarfaraz yes but lets see how his fitness go for an year. And i have noticed that in one full series he goes wayward in last games may be due to fitness. Performance yes. Potential i think he is giving best with his potential. And he is our best bet among all.

younis khan..... all jokes aside tho not a big list to chose from shows the state of our cricket at the moment.

Hafeez shouldn't even be apart of the champions trophy squad tbh. Wahab definitely will be although there are doubts about him in odis.

If these seniors fail they could be booted out
