For England, Edgbaston is the test fortress. So we don't play there any more. Well done EWCB!

Pakistan were unbeaten at karachi forever. Would not lose there for sure when Javed was in the team.

When we were about to lose the crowd would step in and match was abandoned. Happened once in 1989 vs. india.

England at Edgbaston and the Oval
Australia at Lord's
Not on the list - South Africa at Cape Town

Its a real shame that we cant play at home!! We would have been a much better team :(

All we can do now is fire Ijaz Butt

Cape Town is a fortress for SA, they always up their game when they play there. It's a beautiful ground.

Australia made Lord's their back yeard over the years. The area itself fires them up. Staggering. :warne

Australia used to beat the hell out of England at Lord's- until 2009

Pakistan's 'lucky ground' abroad is the Oval

England's best ground in terms of atmosphere and results is Edgbaston by far: the atmosphere and view (as opposed to Lords' very formal and historical atmosphere) is very passionate, noisy and has an amazing view from pretty much everywhere

Karachi should have been only one loss, silly umpires forcing players to field in the dark. Pakistan at home in most grounds have a very good record, one of the hardest places to win for visiting teams.

ever since bhajji has turned up, eden gardens has been a fortress for india. bhajji does well for some reason there against all oppositions.

He averages 22 there. Most great players average that in their careers.

Since Harbjaan made his debut, the record of India at Eden Gardens:

4w-2d-1L.

Yes, what a ''fortress''.

The loss was against Pakistan :))

*silly captain's negative anti-cricket tactics rightly overridden by strong piece of umpiring so that deserving team won.

All captains would try to slow things down in such a situation. The fact is it was too dark to play cricket, it's the umpires job to uphold the rules not to take the law into their own hands.

Fielding in the dark when you can't see the ball is hardly cricket. lol

2 out of those 4 were versus south africa.
1 win was from follow on vs aus.

did you forget that?? i bet you did. conveniently.

that loss was in 99. BEFORE bhajji's career-defining performance.

Hey hey, don't shoot the messenger. I was just saying its wierd to call a place a fortress, when you've won 4 matches in 12 years, and failed to win nearly half :p

Also, that loss was in 99. But you said:

''ever since bhajji has turned up''.

Maybe you should have said, ever since Bhajji turned awesome.

Oh wait that sounds wrong. You should have said ''Ever since Bhajji had one great series, and has lived of that all his career''.

yep i meant since bhajji's epic performance. and you...got it.

perfect.

You'd be saying what I was saying if Pakistan had won a test and series 1-0 in bad light at the Oval.

Isn't Pakistan unbeaten at the Niaz Stadium,Hyderabad ?

Which was the 2nd team to beat us at NSK? I know England were the first and thought the only team to do it.

Pakistan has the best home test record of all teams.

All the subcontinental teams double their overall winning percentage when playing at home, but pakistan hold the biggest advantage

Pakistan 4x as likely to win at home vs abroad

Nice stats! How ironic that Bangladesh have the highest lowest score of all test playing nations!

Any predictions as to when Pakistan will start playing at home again?

We'll get SL/Afgh to come over in the next few years, but can't see Aus/Eng coming till terrorism dies (stable afghanistan)

Since 2000, pak continues to struggle away (.65 winning) so this doesn't seeem to be a hangover of the 50s/60s

The big boys won't come for a while yet. Expect plenty of trips to the UAE over the years.

We've never exactly been ruthless overseas; however, over the years there have been plenty of games that were lost due to shear madness in the mind, losing from a near winning position.

Karachi and Colombo were the first names that come to mind.

Pakistan in Karachi is just RIDICULOUS!

too good yaar!

Karachi record is soo strong.......
Got away with a draw today. What’s the record now?

You should calculate WIN/ DRAW+LOSS raio to get the accurate picture of domination. Drawing 50% of the tests i not domination.
