The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is the greatest western and one of top 3 movies I have ever seen. It's difficult to imagine a better combination of music, characters, and style/ direction. I mean how is it even humanly possible?

Anyways, what other westerns do you recommend? Do you think any can match The Good, the Bad and the Ugly?

Tbh his character was lame in GBU. The movie was awesome because of Tuco and Angel Eye.

Clint himself wasn't happy with the end result and stated his character wasn't developed.

Nothing beats The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
2. Once Upon A Time in the West
3. The Magnificent Seven
4. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
5. My name is Nobody

Comfortably The Good The Bad and The Ugly followed by Unforgiven. The greatest western of the decade is Django Unchained

Damn now I kinda feel obligated to watch Unforgiven!

Didn't like it. A triumph of style over substance IMO.

My favourite is still Shane, the fifties Alan Alda movie. Clint Eastwood pretty much copied it when he made Pale Rider.

Otherwise, either version of True Grit. And Unforgiven is pretty good.

The other two films in the Dollars Trilogy
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Little Big Man

Not a classical western I suppose, but it's the same subject matter if I'm not wrong. Westerners fighting over the new country and running the natives out of town.
Yeah it was a good picture. Not mention the brilliant background score.

I like the Eastwood movies as much as the next guy, but I think Last of the Mohicans needs to be on this list because firstly, it is a totally different perspective on the old west, secondly - and more importantly - it's a damn fine film.

It's DDL Man.That guy takes acting to a whole new level. For people like me who didn't know much about Anglo French Wars of 1700s in the states , it was quite an informative film. Also the way how the native American society was portrayed.

A few other notable ones aside from the ones already named

Dances With Wolves
The Revenant
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
The Magnificent Seven (1969 one)
Tombstone

Agreed. I like its score too!

Just saw Unforgiven the other day. It was decent but I didn't find it to be great. Would give 8/10 personally.

The Good, the Bad and The Ugly.

Absolutely superb.

Haven't see either of them. Have to give them a shot. Once upon a time in America too. All of them are rated highly on IMDB.

Once upon a time in america is not a western. It is a prohibition era related gangster movie. But it is as awesome as sergio leone's other movies

Lot of westerns are great You should watch john wayne's movies and some old classics like high noon and shane
