Which is your second favourite team for the World Cup?

We all want our own countries to win the trophy, but inside our hearts we also have one or more other teams we support if our team fails, or just in neutral matches.

Previously I have supported Windies and Kiwis but this time around it will be Proteas.

There is not much preassure on them as everyone is talking about Poms, Aussies and Team Blue. So I really hope they can take advantage of this and surprise the World.

Would love to se a PAK-SA final :)
 
England want them to win really badly because they totally deserve it the cricket they have been playing in these recent times is 5 years ahead of all the other teams obviously I want Pakistan to win but lol we got no chance so let’s go POMS bring it home this time or you will never get a better opportunity ever
 
Difficult question.

I like India as a team and Kohli as a player, but then I am not enthusiastic about Indian fans same as Pakistani fans they are too emotional and bad sports.

Australia is a decent side but difficult to back up I could see only it in Ashes against England, so it is between New Zealand and South Africa for me.

WI is too unprofessional.
 
Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Bangladesh especially reminds me of old Indian teams.
 
All 4 other Asian teams. If not Bangladesh, let one of our neighbours to win it from the land of former masters.

Outside Asian block, obviously it’s WIN ..... there is always a special reservation for first love.
 
Id like West Indies to win if pakistan dont Theyre great entertainers and hopefully it can be a springboard to better more consistent cricket for them over the next few years
 
I cant believe Im saying this but I follow India the most after Pakistan. Does that make them my 2nd favourite?
 
Don't want WI to win. Most players are mercenaries who don't even seem to like the format. Will set a bad precedent.
 
If not India I would want Pakistan or Bangladesh to win the World Cup, both have the teams to make semis and after that it is just 2 high pressure games. I also like Sri Lanka, Afghanistan but feel they don't have the teams to make final four.

:)...similar to you....am indian...but as a life long supporter and admirer of all things pace bowling & especially of Pak's pace factory...i'd go team green...
 
England but would also be happy if WI won it.

Teams I don't want to win it are India, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
 
1st Bangladesh
2nd England

3rd if it’s India v Pakistan semi or final. I’ll stick to how I used to support in the 00s before social media, fb, Internet reached certain parts and internet-trolls were born. I was a big fan of India.
 
It’s always been South Africa, always loved AB so since he retired it was a sad, but they still have Faf, QD, Rabada, Miller, and JP. So yeah I want to see a SA/Pak Final with Pak to win.
 
After Bangladesh I prefere any of the Asian team to win matches against rest of the teams.
 
Australia

It will be a story to tell if Smith and Warner redeem themselves by winning the world cup

Second will be India who I think deserve to win at least one more world cup considering how they have dominated ODI cricket in last 10 years.
 
West Indies by far.

As some posters have put it, after two decades WI is sending a serious team to a 50 over world cup. The bowling is ok but the batting is monstrous and super deep.
 
It will be an embarrassment if 'this' Pakistan team wins another tournament.
 
If India does not win, then England should win. They deserve it the most among all teams. They dismantled the team they had when they got embarrassed at 2015 WC and injected attacking multi dimensional players. Surely this should be England's WC.

Pakistan are not winning anything. They have too many holes and batting is totally dependent on Babar.

Pak's fortunes will rest on their bowlers. They need Amir, Hasan to discover their mojo like they did in 2017 CT. But I doubt it will happen again.
 
If Pakistan do not win it, I hope one of South Africa or England do. Anyone but India or Australia though.
 
Surprised, but good to see some Indians rooting for the "toygers."
Overall, I think Indian fans impression of BD Cricket has improved over the years. At times, some of our fans still trigger them though lol.

For me:
1. WI, North American power plus their players are so exciting with celebrations and stuff. I love Sheldon Cottrell celebration.
2. IND, I love watching IND v Aus battle.
3. PAK
4. Aus
5. NZ
 
England. They deserve a trophy and this team is more than capable of it.
 
South Africa- I have a lot of respect for their captain, who seems not to suffer the stage fright that has afflicted all their great players
 
Windies
Feel they are brand ambassadors of cricket
Play great, don’t abuse and are best tourists . Lara to Gayle, Haynes to hooper , walsh ambrose to holder , these guys are always a delight . First non white team to break the Anglo Saxon hegemony over cricket , first to show what fast bowling means, first to show via Richards what destructive batting means and continue to entertain us always

As an india supporter , second after windies is Pakistan - as they always produced brilliant cricketers . But nowadays Afghanistan is the new Pakistan and I support them for the amazing fearless brand of cricket

Last a honourable mention of the kiwis . Consistent cricket always . Nothing to dislike abt them
 
After Pakistan, West Indies.

I'm still dreaming , feeling more realistic now for the resurgence of glory days of West Indies cricket. If that happens West Indies would be my frequent vacationing destination.
 
Anyone who hasn't won a world cup before. I'd probably want SA tbh, feel sorry for them they've been good for so long, and even their best player just quit on them.

I wouldn't mind England, but not sure they really care. The whole it's only ODI thing. Things are changing and definitely as a team and their players, England are taking it a lot more seriously. But I still do wonder if the fanbase as a whole really cares. Maybe the younger fanbase do but in general think interest in cricket in UK has plummetted amongst younger generation.
 
West Indies (always fun to watch) and of course any team playing against England!

Obviosuly England. People here are already celebrating they know it's staying at home.
 
Team India because of Rohit, Kohli, Dhawan, Dhoni, Shami, Pandya aka aiiii and Bumrah. Used to support Pakistan but their brand of cricket is boring. India is more entertaining nowadays. I had to fix my second team :butt So India followed by Pome, Pakistan then Aussies.

Simple question.

My 2nd side is England. Tis my home.

Least fave: Saffers
 
If Pakistan beat NZL tomorrow, then I will be supporting India in their match against England.
 
Trolling, banter aside after India I would like Pakistan to do well.

Lot of people get filled with hatred and forget we were once same :)
