This is my list ranked in order of merit of the most perfect left and right handed batsmen belonging to a similar era fused into one.Criteria is fusion of technical correctness with elegance ,creativity and ability to pulverise a bowling attack.

1.Sachin Tendulkar-Brian Lara

2.Don Bradman-Neil Harvey

3.Barry Richards-Graeme Pollock

4.Viv Richards-Alan Border

5.Rohan Kanhai-Gary Sobers.

6.Virat Kohli-Kumar Sangakaara

7.Viv Richards-Alvin Kalicharan

1.Tendulkar-Lara at the top because perfect fusion of mastery and genius-Like an architect and musician rolled into one.

2.Bradman was a creature from another planet while Harvey potentially was close to the best batsmen of all time.

3.Barry was the epitome of technical perfection while Pollock was a magician.Both could dissect an attack to shreds.

4.Viv and Border were a perfect medley of attacking agression with the most solid defence.


5.Kanhai-Sobers was the perfect blending between technical skill power and creativity.

Hard one. But would love to see what a Saeed Anwar and Rahul Dravid mix would look like. In theory it sounds very aesthetic.
