If both these teams played a world cup final, which team would win?

Abdullah719 bhaijaan, please create a poll for this thread.:yk3

I'll go with Team 1. Team 2's bowling attack has mostly been a flop at big stage, and batting will likely choke too.

Damn..totally forgot about that.:yk

Replace Symonds with Imran than!:ik

Then Team 1; 9 times out of 10. Some of the toughest cookies are in that team - Imran, Viv, Kohli, Bevan, MS, Anwar, Sehwag. And, now the bowling is far balanced.

Can you edit the original post and replace Symonds with Imran Khan in team 1..

Please don't. Symond's presence is what keeps the thread interesting. If you replace him with Imran, then Team 1's bowling attack becomes way too strong.

But it's difficult to get 10 overs from Symonds alone..

Team 2 has a scary bowling attack, I tend to be biased in favour of high calibre bowlers to win me games so I have to go with Team 2. Team 1 is pretty weak come to think of it for an all time great XI, think they'd get eaten for breakfast by the likes of Garner, Younis, Akram and Murali; Kapil is handy as well with his dibbly dobbly

With tons of match winners in both sides, the winner will be the team whose players have a better day.

Gun to head, I would go with team 1.

Explosive openers...insane middle order....incredible bowlers.

The bowlers they are facing are Wasim, Waqar, Garner and Murali, not the likes of Vinay Kumar. :bm

Don't know about Garner, but the other bowlers have been quite average in the World Cups, specially when you compare them to bowlers Team 1 has.

^^On a second thought, same can be said about the mentioned batsmen too.

Neither is gonna beat this one.
Hayden
Mark Waugh
Sangakarra (wk)
Inzaman ul haq
Arvinda DeSilva
Yuvraj Singh
Imran Khan (cap)
Mitchell Johnson
Saqlain Mushtaq
Shane Bond
Curtly Ambrose

Wasim Akram has a Man of the Match award in a World Cup final.

Joel Garner has a five-fer in a World Cup final.

Nah, that would make Team 1 super favorites. They already have greater batting depth and more clutch players :srt:viv

I just picked Team 2 because guys like AB, Klusener and Kapil would bully the fifth bowler (Symonds, Viv, Sehwag or Bevan) enough to edge ahead Team 1.

Exchanging Klusener for Symonds would be a better option.

Kholi selection doesn't make sense.

Murali above Akram at 8?

My vote to team 2 even if you replace Symonds.

Bevan , Kohli , Dhoni in same team , they can chase easily, three best chasers in history there.

You have tainted your legacy, SC. I am disappoint.

Improved team 1 which I would back to win against team 2:

1) Hashim Amla
2) Saeed Anwar
3) Viv Richards
4) Virat Kohli
5) Inzamam ul Haq
6) MS Dhoni (wk)
7) Imran Khan (c)
8) Shaun Pollock
9) Mitchell Starc
10) Glenn McGrath
11) Saqlain Mushtaq

Amla is a better ODI opener than Sehwag, Hayden, etc. Bevan and Dhoni were great finishers but you need batsmen to make the runs too and having them both in the same team wouldn't be helpful.

The whole of India can't recreate what Wasim did in the finals of the '92 WC, even if they tried staging it.

Team 1 batting is too strong. Kohli and Viv are gun batters, MSD and Bevan are great finishers. Don't understand why Sehwag was picked, his odi record isn't that great. Sanath would have been a better pick.

It would be nice if we could like actually have the match simulated like PCL to see which team would win. That would be pretty lit.
