A good chance to test a new or unfamiliar face, but we went with a tried and tested one instead.

Shahzad is the third opener after Babar and Fakhar. So his selection is justified.
No doubt. His performances certainly lit up the PSL.

He averages like 35 in his last 10 T20Is.
You can't drop him on PSL performance when he has performed internationally. Once it hits 26> by all means drop him, but there needs to be consistency in selection, not based on personal likes and dislikes.
I would argue that his inclusion in the T20 team for the NZ toured turned it around for us.
Shehzad and Fakhar got off to a good start and we took off from there.
On international form - he makes it into the T20 squad.

I'm just hoping that Shehzad has a horrendous series.
Umer Amin is a garbage player. A total failure. He cannot be compared to a single player in the squad. That would have sounded nice and logical but the only thing that throws spanner in the works is that Umar Amin got dropped on the basis of PSL

Umar Amin iz better then Shehzad
Asif Ali can be tried as an opener(out of the current squad).Better than trying Shehzad for the umpteenth time.Would have liked Farhan in the squad though.
Not really. In the final T20, Amin hit 3 6s off Sodhi (then 1st ranked bowler in T20s), and Pakistan eventually won the game by 18 runs.I have no problem with Umar Amin either, but I believe he failed against NZ, which was his last tour.
BTW shehzad has 40+ avg in his last 5 t20 with healthy strike rate . He has earned his place
Sahibzada Farhan without thinking too much. Also U19 opener Zaid Alam should be groomed, looked good striker of the ball during U19 WC.
