Which opener should have been in the squad for the T20Is against Scotland?

He didnt play any of the matches against the Windies by the way that was right after the PSL. I guess if Babar would not have gotten injured, Shehzad would have not played any of the matches against Scotland either. Although, i personally believe that Babar got lucky as Windies are his favorite and probably the only punching bags.

Kamran - if we consider pure cricket merit.

BUT, he isn't retired, neither he has been told that he won't be considered; rather they (IuH) has said that door is open for performers - there no one remotely close to Kamran, when it comes to deserve a call based on performance. If Rahat can be called/retained & Ahmed can be sent from PAK, no excuse why Kamran wasn't in that flight.

Obviously, he is too old now & unfit, therefore there can be a 2nd thought, which is fair enough.

I would argue that his inclusion in the T20 team for the NZ toured turned it around for us.

Shehzad and Fakhar got off to a good start and we took off from there.

On international form - he makes it into the T20 squad.

Yup, thats what i was trying to point out in my post as well. We were absolutely shambolic in the first t20I and their pair really did turn things around for us in that forgetful tour. On the other hand, his PSL form didnt do him any favours either.

Umer Amin is a garbage player. A total failure. He cannot be compared to a single player in the squad.

I have no problem with Umar Amin either, but I believe he failed against NZ, which was his last tour.

Ideally someone who is big and strong. The first six overs in the T20 format often sets the tone of the match, so it's vital for Pakistan to get off to a blinder. You can do this either by having a stroke maker who can pierce the field with proper cricket shots or a big strong power hitter whose mishits will go over the in field.

Ahmed Shazad was the stroke maker Pakistan hoped for who could play proper cricket strokes and bat for 10+ overs setting a foundation but he plays far too many dot balls, often per-meditating the defence shot.

I would probably try out some someone like Talat. I feel he comes in too low down the order, if he can bat for 10 overs Pakistan will have a above par score every time.

Shahabzada Farhan should be in the squad instead of Ahmed Shehzad. As in the previous series Babar Azam settled with Fakhar as an opener. So Babar is not there and Haris Sohail is in his place. It seems Mickey does not want Ahmed to roll around with the team. So Better will be that Hussain Talat should bring as an opener as he was no.3 batsman in the last series. Haris never opened the innings. So Hussain Talat and Fakhar will be perfect choice. With Haris at no 3, Sarfraz no 4, Malik no 5 and Asif Ali the hitter at no 6, then Shahdab and Fahim and rest are the bowlers.

Not really. In the final T20, Amin hit 3 6s off Sodhi (then 1st ranked bowler in T20s), and Pakistan eventually won the game by 18 runs.
