A friend of mine reckons none of the current Pakistani fast bowlers would be in playing XI for India in any format, probably even in squad of 15.

I obviously disagreed with him.

There is no dearth of bowling talent in Pakistan.

What's your opinion?

Shaheen for now, Naseem, Musa, Hasnain, Rauf in the future.

M Amir in t20’s

The best fast bowlers in Pakistan are all very young right now and have no experience. It will take a year or two to decide.

Probably Shaheen right now as India do lack a quality left arm pacer.

in odi, shaheen for sure. shaheen over bhuvi although bhuvi can bat.

shaheen is world class.
rauf potentially. musa is too raw and wayward. hasnain is not talented imo. naseem shah is too raw.

in tests;

shaheen again. That's it

pakistan will always be the best bowling talent factory. India is up there now but I think Pakistan's under 19 bowlers look more ready than India's at the moment. India have some in their prime ready to play fot india though like saini, nathu singh, avesh khan etc.

shaheen is elite
rauf is up there in terms of talent

musa
naseem
sameem gul

all are raw but extremely talented especially sameem gul. What a wonderful talent he is.

Wahab Riaz as well.

He would be a 3rd seamer for every Asian team.

was that sarcastic or not. I'm very worried.

Wahab is decent tbh. He’s a bit underrated but he’s a very useful 90mph bowler who bats and can bowl in the middle and death overs.

He has off days but you get that with these kind of players

His stats are pretty horrendous and he has had more off days than on days.

Md Amir in Test only if it is in England, otherwise you can keep him at home. Shaheen has talent but I am not going to take him over combination of Ishant, Bumrah and Shami in playing 11 atleast. Maybe in another year or so that will change with Shaheen gaining more experience.

In ODI Shaheen will come in with Bumrah if two fast bowlers are played. If a third pacer is played , then I will go with Shami.

None will replace Bumrah and Shami.

The only place available is for the 3rd seamer.

Shaheen can replace Bhuvi in ODIs and T20s.

In tests Ishant has been tremendous in last 3 years or so. So it will be difficult to replace him. Yadav has suddenly found his Mojo.

None in Tests, but Amir/Shaheen would probably play as third seamer in ODIs and T20s after Bumrah and Shami.

I love wahab. stats don't do him justice. such a fit machine who is quite underrated I agree.
Often disrespected by his own fans which is very strange. Wahab and umesh are similar utility bowlers. Both are strong, powerful, pacey and hard working but wahab can bat much better. In saying that, Umesh's bowling record however in subcontinent is insanely good compared to wahab.

Let's not forget Wabby at his best is one of the best of this generation. That spell to Shane Watson was one for the ages.

Hasan Ali can break into Indian squad anyday

Please take him, we would happily gift him to you. Please also take Wahab, Rahat, Irfan, Imran sr, Junaid Khan, Faheem, Umar and Kamran Akmal and Shehzad. You can take Sarfaraz too.

You forgot to mention Babar amongst these :babar

Amir will share new ball.

Shami first change

Don’t think so. Shami is better than Amir - quicker and more threatening. Amir knows how to keep things tight though, so he would be a useful first change for India.

I would take Shaheen over Amir though. Shaheen is a more aggressive and wicket taking option with better pace. Bumrah already provides that control. I would bowl Shami 2 overs first up then bring Shaheen on in the 5th over, just like Pak did in the later stages of the world cup. Shami seems like a bowler who would do well in the middle overs as he bangs it in and gets that reverse swing.

It's important to keep in mind Shaheen has the advantage of height.

Most Indian pacers are very short of height except Ishant Sharma who is a giant. When he comes running with his long hair it gives a wild feeling.

Shaheen in odi and t20I.No one in tests.

I thought Shaheen/Wahab/Aamir was a decent attack at the World even if they were poor with the new ball. The gap is in tests though. Aamir would not have made it even if he hadn't retired. Abbas is too slow for Indian wickets, Hasan too short and wayward and Shaheen too raw. Currently not good enough to replace any of Bumrah ,Ishant, Shami or even Umesh in India.

Bar shaheen I can't think of anyone else, plus the new brigade are to young and need to establish themselves, it's no injustice it's just India's attack is a gun attack

Yadav is an example that taking wickets in India against non-asian teams is an easy task specially if you bowl second. Only Bumrah and Shami have proven themselves away from home.

Lol, that kind of spell occurred once every blue moon

The first was in Mohali, then in Adelaide, and that's all my memory of Wahab. There are barely any other performances. Us poor Pakistanis had to witness such pacers for a decade, and now many of us have convinced ourselves that these guys were actually world class. I even thought Wahab was world class after the 2015 world cup. I realised the truth a year later.

Well to be honest I never really rated wahab other than a shock bowler, he had pace and aggression but lacked nouse and skill, after imran, wasim waqar and to a lesser extent shoaib and sami I really thought amir when he first burst on yo the scene and asif were top top class, after that we've had some liqourish all sorts, just hope the new young guns are given time and a professional platform to hone their skills and are allowed to perform

How about in reverse how many Indian bowlers in all formats will be picked by Pakistan team

If I give my opinion based on Lara's recent statement none of our current fast bowlers even close to 80s WI. So none!!!!

Odis:-

Bumrah
Amir/Shaheen
Shami

That will be my bowling attack. Bumrah will share the new ball with Amir or Shaheen whoever plays .Shami is excellent but at times can go for runs. Prefer two right handers and a left armer.

Tests:-

Bumrah
Shami
Ishant

The three are easily the best. In Asia, one would rather go for two of them and the other two spinners.

Pakistan has 4 teenage bowlers going to Australia.

When they come out of Australia they will be men and not boys anymore.

I assure you that.

Shaheen can get a look in even in tests because India have lacked a good left-armer, he will have strong competition though.
