I am yet to find a match winning performance in knock outs which comes close to aravinda desilvas 1996 heroic in semi final and final. He scored counter attacking 66 against India with SL batting first. He single handedly won the final against Aus, chasing 241.
who would be your picks in crunch knock out matches from India/PAK and other potential contenders in semis.
From India.
1) Kohli . Post his come back, his calmness and self awareness with no ego ( Earlier it used to be, I score because I am kohli kindaa attitude) is remarkable accounting for human effort but result not being in control. if India goes to semis , i believe Kohli will play a key role. with preassure off capataincy removed, he is looking lot more calmer and relaxed.
2) Pandya may fire in one of semis/finals. Panday is lot matured than his 2019 brain fade semis. He threw it away in 2019 semis against NZ. He is bowling well and is in good rhythm now . Pandya may come to the party
Bowlers: Siraj who can run through an oppotions
From Pakistan:
Babar: His technique and assuredness at crease with batting friendly conditions may just well be the right platform for him to explode in semis/finals
Iftikhar: Great temperment and passion. plays well against pace and spin. Hugely underrated but tempermentally strong
Bowlers: Shaheen can do what peak wasim did in 1992.
From England:
Ben stokes, easily the best all rounder and mentally the toughest. He may repeat his 2019 heroics
Bowlers: Adil rashid's legspin can come very handy. he has guile and skill.
From srilanka:
kusal mendis - reminds me of jayawardane.
bowlers: pathiraana
