So, this last few months , along with PSL, we really have gotten some good young and some young-ish players who could kick start our LOIs hopes.

Namely, we have Babar Azam who is just great for our shaky batting team, we have good a really smart bowler in Hassan Ali, we got Junaid who played beautifully in Asutralia and Amir is back ( not as good but a potent pacer) , this along with Wahab etc gives us a great fast bowling core going forward

In All arounders, Shadab Khan , Imad Wasim and somewhar Nawaz are good addition to the core as well.

The obviously we lost the players liek Misbah and Azhar who were too outdated for modern game and thats a plus. We got Sarfraz as the captian and signs of better tings to come from him as well. We have in form Shoaib Malik recently and very young talented Spinners like Ashghar.

The testament of our improvement could be consitent good scores in AUS AND Eng ODI series. In both series we won a game each, we chased down 303 in England after being 4-0 and it was great to watch that kind of fight in this new look team. ( England got us 5-0 in UAE last time remember )
We got a comfortable clean sweep vs West Indies and seem to have fitter players

Obviously TTF problem is still not fully solved yet ( Kamran..Hafeez )

Is this all an illusion or we are turning the page over for once? Does this youth blended impact players like Azam, Imad, Sarfraz, Hassan Ali , Shadab give you hope for Pak new mentality.

What one players seems to be most influential as we go on rebuilding and head to WC 2019

Oh forgot to mention Ruman Raees, excellent addition too

And much improved batting ability now for Amir is gonna come handy as well. Almost everyone till Junaid Khan can hold a bat now

Need more exciting middle order batsmen. There is no future with Kami and Hafeez. Unfortunately even if those two have a torrid time in the Caribbean, Inzi will still select them for CT citing the bahana of "experience" for a world tournament.

Shadab, definitely .

Not too excited about Hasan Ali, will be hard for him to earn a permanent place in the team. No pace, no height.

Mohammad Amir can be one of the best players in the world. So it's him for me.

Babar Azam can also be one of the best players in the world in a few years time. So he's the other one.

Not really excited by anybody else.

His pace has been steadily improving. Was consistently between the 135-142 kph range in the ODI series against Australia.

It would be quite immature to get excited by a player who hasn't even debuted yet.

Though I hope Shadab performs well.

Expectations excites you, not the thing you already know. Shadab has not play any international cricket yet but he is hugely talented and I'm expected a lot from him, exciting, isn't it ?

PSL performance, making the teams best bat look like a tailender twice, some real batting potential shown as well, all this at 18 years old, what's wrong with being excited for someone who's got massive potential?

Shadab. The charisma and the confidence is just there. Hopefully, it will result into performance at the grand stage.:sarf

Shehzad, Babar, Haris (when fit), Hassan Ali.

Imad is borderline for me.

Husain Talat excited me the most. His shots are excuisite.

I m not convinced with Fakhar Zaman. I think he go with croos bat everytime and he'sv weak on offside

Sarfraz -> Captain (Most Important for our odi future)

Babar, Haris(will be back) -> Batsmen

Shadab -> Spin allrounder

Hasan, Amir -> Fast bowlers

Hassan Ali, Babar Azam, Shadab Khan and Hussain Tallat.

Maybe Rumman Raees as well if he can establish himself in ODIs.

I am not too worried about the bowling but not a single batsman excites me, now that sharjeel is gone

Why don't you rate Shadab's bowling highly? And why spinners like Usama Mir more highly? (From the perspective of LOs cricket)

Because Usama is 6'4 and lanky. I've seen him bowl to his potential albeit for small periods. Once he's comfortable with his action, makes full use of his extension and finds his length which takes a bit more time at his height, the revolutions, drop and drift he will generate will make him unplayable at times. He's not ready yet though. Hasn't got enough overs under his belt.

Shadab doesn't impart the same amount of revs as Zafar, Irfan or Usama. His seam presentation is good though.

So now we have:

Babar
Imad
Shadab
Hasan Ali
Amir

All under 25 apart from Imad who is 28.

It will mature by 2023 WC. We need to find another world class batter who is under 28.

I always say a team needs 6 world class players to compete for a world cup win.

Imad, Aamir and Hasan are not word class. Just above average

Imad Wasim is someone I really think will take that extra step and develop into a star.

I believe Pakistan is wasting his batting talent by stuffing him in the lower order. Play him at 4 over Hafeez and I think he will thrive.

Imad is actually a batting all-rounder; But we need hitters and he has the most potential to be Pakistan's late-middle order slogger. So ideally at 6 or 7.

Shobby for sure because he's been one of the few Pakistani batsmen who knows how to pace an LOI inning. Besides he's elegant and can hit huge sixes when he wants to.

I liked that big lefty opener too who got banned recently. There was bit of Sehwag in him.

Amit is always entertaining to watch because when he bowls you always expect things to happen.

Unfortunately haven't seen a lot of Babar azam. Only heard good things though.

ahan thanks for the detail reply :)

Pakistan are lacking lower order hitting but Imad isn't the answer to that. I haven't seen anyone that can fill that role yet.

We need a leftie in the middle order until Haris is ready so I think we should give Imad a chance. He looks a proper batsman.

Babar Azam is scoring runs
Hassan Ali taking wickets
Imad is good in patches or may be a lot more to debate
but still Amir has to perform
Shadab inclusion and performance will give a balance to the team
Question mark on Hafeez
as long as shoaib malik is performing its good
we have to put a lot of effort to improve our batting. What we induct new in the recent days is only in bowling side nothing special and new in batting. we need some serious efforts and selectors attitude towards batting.

Hafeez is no 2 in AR in the world ATM

I dont thinks he's good for team balance or future but we cant get rid of him if he performs ( al beit inccnsisitently )

Babar Azam
Shadab Khan
Hasan Ali
Imad Wasim
Mohamamd Amir

And also Sharjeel was the most exciting to watch although we will have to wait and see what is to become of him.

Glad to see some new blood like Kamran and Hafeez in the team after Misbah and his old boy's club.
