Going to be a dog fight between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.

India will most likely give walk overs to Pakistan.
 
It's quite obvious at this point who will win the tournament, even without trying much. Among all the out-of-form teams, I can only see Afghanistan realistically giving India some trouble—and not much at that. But cricket is a funny game; anything is possible.

Also, it's surprising to see Bangladesh in good form in the T20 format. They did win a couple of T20 series, but they also lost to the UAE not too long ago. BD is a mystery to me and has been for a long time ... lol

Afghanistan have never given India any trouble in any game, ever. It would be foolish of you to discount Sri Lanka, who are the second best team in this tournament regardless of how spirited Afghanistan has been over the past year or so.

India looks to be heavy favorites though, and a level above all other teams coming into this tournament.

Not true. Afghanistan have run India close a few times. In the 2018 Asia Cup, the match between India and Afghanistan ended in a tie. In the 2019 World Cup aswell Nabi got them very close to India's total before Shami ran through them with a hat-trick in the final over

There was also a bilateral T20 last year where Afghanistan levelled India's 200+ total, but India won the match in the super-over.

What you said is incorrect. 2019 WC, how can you forget that? Also, RedwoodOriginal pretty much summed it up nicely.

But yes, it would be unwise to not count SL. These guys have always punched above their weight - regardless of the team they fielded. That Asia cup, where SL came out and won with an avg team - no one even considered them winning it. Shanaka was the captain I believe?

I stand corrected, regardless India has had more issues with Pakistan, Sri Lanka and even Bangladesh has actually beaten them.

Afghanistan just don’t seem up for it when they face India, no matter how many close games they’ve had.

Pakistan has actually done okay against India in the last few encounters, where they were dominating 90% of the game only to lose and won a couple of times too. Yet fans and critics are praying India boycotts this game for two points

Their USP is hitting teams with mystery spinners while not getting tied down by opposition's spinners themselves.

Works against most teams at least in certain conditions.

Never works against India.

Their spinners are exposed to every Tom, Dick and Harry in the IPL aswell. Unfortunately other teams do not have that luxury

2018 Asia Cup India rested many of their first XI cause they were already through.

Anything can happen in LOI however Indian team is the strongest on paper.
 
India’s squad not yet announced but I think they should send in their B team considering the quality of the opposition.

They will send their best squad because they will not accept any kind of defeat to Pakistan atm.

Their best squad is the one Gambhir was developing with the inclusion of Bumrah

Sending b teams business(atleast in t20s) is almost over as every match will have consequences of olympics qualification here onwards.

There are only about 6 or 7 countries that play serious cricket. So I don't think that will be an issue. India is a top ranked side. Every other side is languishing at the bottom.

Siraj will get smashed in UAE. Bumrah and Varun are the best bowlers and very difficult to negotiate.

No tuk tukis for Kuldeep to just pepper away at either.

Problem is only one team each continent. So unless u r better than ur next team more than 40 points like India, no other team will dare much like earlier. Every team will have an eye on rankings now onwards.India and pak will not send b teams against each other for obvious reasons.

Gambhir won't prefer varun and Kuldeep together .in that case , bumrah/arshdeep and pandya will be the pacers.

Indiq is world bo 1 ranked side. Pakistan 7th or 8th who just lost to Bangladesh. They ain't catching up India . Also being no 1 ranked gives you direct qualification chance. It won't totally eliminate you from participating. Rules are set by ICC Jay Shah. India will.play olympics no matter 2hat team they play

Logically yes but india vs pak is always emotional stuff .so i dont think b teams will deployed so easily unless other one is a complete dummy

Bumrah will play but Siraj Not. Likely Indian Pacers - BUMRAH , Arshdeep , Prasidh/ Harshit and Hardik Pandya

So in playing eleven Bumrah , Arshdeep along with Pandya+ three spinners ( Two will be allrounders)

India played 2018 Asia cup without Prime Kohli. Kohli was rested yet India smashed Pakistan twice in week and eventually won the Asia Cup :kp
 
Sri Lanka tend to do well in Asia Cups. They went to final of the last edition and won the one before that.

I wouldn't be surprised if SL end up winning.

2014 without dhoni and raina.but not this year for sure.definitely India will not leave a chance to decimate pak.due to this year attacks , it will take some time to deploy less experienced squad again.

We are playing the test match against westindies just after 3 day's of Asia Cup final but yea most likely we will Play with Full strength team .

This Will be big game because of recent conflicts and we have minimum 2 chance to decimate Pakistan infront of Whole World.

True the lowest point became a phase which morphed into an era and now looms large over Pakistan cricket covering it almost entirely.

Pak has nothing to lose against India atm which makes them the ultimate party spoilers.

Ind are favourites for this tournament by a mile (10 miles). Which is why the pressure would be on India.

Pakistan has announced its squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan chief selector Aaqib Javed, speaking to the reporters after the squad announcement, was quite confident that this team can beat India during the tournament. The Men in Green will face the Men in Blue on 14th September, and potentially, both sides could clash again later in the tournament.

“This team has the ability to beat India in the Asia Cup. Whether you like it or not, the match between India and Pakistan is the biggest in world cricket. Every player knows this,” Javed said.

“Our squad can beat any team. Everyone is ready. Everyone knows the situation surrounding the two countries. But we don’t need to put extra pressure on them,” he added.

Head Coach Mike Hesson called out Babar Azam to improve his strike rate, as the batter has been omitted from the squad. “I think it’s really harsh to challenge a player on their form in three games,” he said at a press conference. “Babar played nicely in the first ODI but missed out on the next two. There’s no doubt Babar’s been asked to improve in some areas around taking on spin and in terms of his strike rate. Those are things he’s working really hard on,” Hesson said.

While Babar and Rizwan continued to be overlooked, the senior players who earned a spot are pace bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, as well as dependable batters such as Fakhar Zaman and Khushdil Shah. Star wicket-keeper Mohammad Haris also kept his spot. The selectors have also reposed their faith in young names like Hasan Nawaz, Salman Mirza, and Sufyan Moqim.

Bumrah should skip these low profile LOI tournaments. Just be part of World T20, IPL ( for BCCI, MI) and Test, ODI world cup.

You don't need Bumrah to beat Pakistan.
 
For me super 4 qualifiers would be:

Group A: Pak and Ind
Group B: Sl and BD

Final: Pak vs BD

Winner: Pak
