Law of averages, he will fail and pak can't lose 3 in a row.
Ha ha.. I want India to lose the toss, lose Abhishek early, and still find multiple ways to beat this Pakistan team in finals. Want as much questions answered before T20 WC in 5 months.

Since SL is technically out, at this point I hope BD wins it. Both PAK/IND should be barred from playing in Asia cup/ICC tournaments going forward if they don't agree to leave politics outside of cricket.

Given the fact that Bangla Boys are the new power house of power hitting under Julian Wood, I expect them to sweep the Asia Cup

The one bad day for India already happened by allowing this Pakistan batting to score 171 and dropping 4-5 catches.

Chasing sides are winning so toss plays a major role. Pak will win if they chase. Also teams batting first after losing toss will try to go extra hard like sl and end up with below par totals.

The sponsors will get what they want i.e. 3 matches between India and Pakistan. Whatever the result is, ACC and Naqvi will be happy.

Pakistan will not be able to beat India in the final irrespective of batting second. The batting line is fragile, and they will not be able to chase under pressure. If Pakistan bats first and posts 175 again, there is a chance the bowlers may be able to defend it this time.

Yes, pressure of finals can sting the chasing team if target is above 180.

Either ways, pak has nothing to lose and might be with their tail up in the finals.

Social media will definitely compare this with 2017 finals to spice things up which will motivate Fakhar and co

If somehow Pakistan goes onto win this Asia Cup, personally speaking this will be a far better victory then the CT17. This tournament just has too much unnecessary bad blood. Losing to India wasn't that bad as we all had expected this, but it was post-match drama and conferences which made things worse.

Pak hasn't reached the final yet. Bangla has been playing very well. Some horses should be held.

I think they took things lightly in the end. Game was already won by then.

They generally do not drop this many.
No international team should drop such kinda catches. They have played few games already in Dubai and should know about the lights and make adjustments

India's catching issues are due to floodlights at Dubai stadium. Anyways they shouldn't drop these many moving forward.

We will humiliate Bangladesh then someone will play magnificently v India.

You heard it here first.

Come at me bro.
I wouldn't take BD so easy. They are a pretty good team in these conditions.

Also, I would concentrate on SKY. He is just trying to get under our skin.
If I were a Pak player, I would concentrate on BD game for now.
We are not going to get to the final by default. We have to win against BD.

Bangladesh are minnow we will crush them easily I'm not concerned at all.

Not the kind of attitude needed when we are minnows as well.

Bangladesh do not have the team to beat India, Australia, South Africa, NZ, and England. If BD beat these teams, these are genuine upsets or pitches have been heavily doctored (like Mirpur pitch).

But, other teams are always within range. Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and West Indies. BD have beaten them many times in the last 5 years. Both on flat pitches and non-flat pitches.

People can say whatever but these are the realities based on statistics from the last 5 years.

That is astonishing if true, reminds me of the Aussies from 2000s 😯

On these kind of pitches, BD actually have a decent chance to be competitive and beat India. They have better conventional batsmen and bowling is decent too which does basics right most of the time. It is just that India is playing with players who have great self belief which sees them through although overall quality in this tournament has been mediocre. Where BD loses out is primarily in their mind, and having some conflicts and bad blood between few players may charge them up

What is astonishing is that each of those teams would be brand new as no players get to play again in a u19 world cup. So they have to assemble new team for each tournament and build them up to perform

India's system is working big time. Right now India is playing A game against Australia A team. India under-19 team has toured Australia. India keeps producing surplus of players. I feel for some serious talents not being able to break through because there are no openings.

Looking forward to next u19 WC. We have some youngsta beauty this time.

This year's Asia Cup started off in a boring manner.

But, Super Four has been exciting.

Also, BD-SL-AFG group was exciting. It was seesaw.
Pak vs bd match is in 13 hours, need match thread for that. How are you feeling about back to back matches for bd?

I used to feel excited about BD's game when I was younger. I now don't care that much. LOL. I just want to enjoy good cricket now.

BD have reached Asia Cup finals a few times (2012, 2016, and 2018). So, if they make it to final, it wouldn't be a new experience. If BD win the Asia Cup, that would be a new experience.

Yeah you’ve mentioned you’re in it just for the nostalgia. I am asking from a back to back game perspective for the team. Easy to play two matches on the trot? BD would have some edge being coming out of a spirited performance or tired after the efforts? In my opinion it’s going to be hard to play 2 matches in 2 days. So uncommon at international level.

It is definitely hard to play 2 games in 2 days. Both emotionally and physically. Teams generally have gaps between games. I think BD is the only team in this Asia Cup to have back to back games like this.

Anyway, they rested the pacers and Litton against India. Hopefully they will be fresh tomorrow.

They should have better schedules next time. No team should have back to back games.

Again a case of most eyeballs dictating cricket schedule. Unfair on BD obviously. But this scheduling was done so that pak and ind could play on a sunday imo.

Yes.

It is a shame because it wasn't like this before in cricket. It also isn't like this in any other major sport.

Last Asia Cup, there was even a reserve day for Pakistan-India game. How was that fair for SL (6-time Asia Cup champion)? It was farcical.

The schedule is based on your group's standing. If Bangladesh had topped their group, they would not have had this schedule. Besides, BD played a match on the 20th. Then they had a 4-day gap, something other teams didn't get. Nothing unfair.

Thanks for sharing this.

This schedule is unfair on team B2 that plays 2 matches in 2 days.

Pak vs ind group match on sunday
The game A1 vs A2 on Sunday
The final on sunday

Once these three matches had been put on 14,21,28 sept the rest of the schedule was set around these matches. Quite obvious, hence team B2 gets to play 2 matches in 2 days so that team A1 and A2 (no prizes for guessing who those were gonna be) can play their match on a sunday.

Alas. What has cricket come to.

You mentioned SL being 6 time champions, I say even that doesn’t matter. The tournament rules should be fair for Hong-Kong, uae, india alike.

One doesn’t need to be a pak or sl or bd fan to see these patters of unfairness and call them out. One just needs a bit of heart..

The difference is that the venue was different for one match. So they gave time for travel.

Bangladesh enjoyed longer breaks than any other team

5th , 9th, 13th, 16th, 17th.. Look at the gap between first 4 matches.

No matter what, but India is 100% favorite to win.. I don't see 1% chance for any other team to beat them here.

The theme of this tournament has been India vs Pakistan, reckon that would be the finals too, if it is, I think India will most likely win but it'd be a lot more fun if Pakistan wins. Internet would explode.

Any tournament if financially not viable it won't be happening for long term.. Cricket lovers need to understand these constraints..

2023 WC - India entered unbeaten entering the final
2024 WC T20 - India entered final unbeaten
2025 CT - India entered final unbeaten
2025 AC - India entered final unbeaten
2025 AC India certainly entered to the final but unbeaten but officially it will be known only after Srilanka match.

Yes. Main objective of Asia Cup is to have 3 IND-PAK matches I guess.

Without IND-PAK, I think they would've scrapped Asia Cup a long time ago.

I expect Pakistan to win this Asia Cup. They have a point or two to prove.
Once they win, this team will be hyped up similar to what happened to the 2017 CT winning team. With that, Pakistan will go on another downward spiral for the next few years.

IND is favorite to win. However, one good thing was they did not completely dominate each of the teams in Super Fours.
India dominated against Pakistan and Bangladesh .

For Lanka match I have my doubt , it was fixed match .

:kp

This Asia Cup has had zero upsets. The top 2 teams (Pakistan and India) made it to final.

Broadcasters got 3 IND-PAK games and 2 BD-SL games.

Everything went according to what was intended. :inti
