Which team is the biggest choker between Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and South Africa?

Pak has choked 3 times now within 3 months.

Vs SL Asia cup where we had SL on the ropes with the ball, and the record for chasing on the ground was incredibly favorable.

Vs India in group stages. 48 off 18. You do not lose from there when you say “We have the best bowling line up of the tournament”. End of.

Vs Zimbabwe in group stages. Getting to 3 off 3 Vs Zim is an achievement chasing 130. But then losing from there is also an achievement.

So in conclusion, South Africa are the biggest chokers. BD next, then Pak.
 
SA is art work as if now, you can't compare other with them.

Bangladesh is not an appropriate candidate given they are not expected to win a lot

Pakistan does not choke consistently enough.

India chokes because they have players who have a survival approach no matter what.
 
No doubt, it's SA. All was needed to win against Netherland.

Newzealand is ranked lower by me because of their win in WTC.

Ironically the moment when the guy (van der merwe) who was part of former SA choker team taking the catch of David Miller turned out to be the decisive moment.

New Zealand has a good bowling attack.

In batting, they have some good hitters but they obviously can't be consistent. Conway seems to be a good anchor and Williamson used to be good or makes decent contributions in big games.They are among the top 3-4 sides and they do get qualify to that level.

Same old stuff. In 2015 WC semis, Grant Elliot who is a Saffer played a tremendous inning under pressure and knocked out SA.
 
South Africa are the biggest chokers.Pakistan are not chokers their batting has been brittle for quite some time.This is due to lack of talent esp in the middle order.SA with good batting and bowling have choked in many ICC events.
 
Pakistan is a weird over achiever

South Africa have to always do a monumental chawwal in every ICC tournament

Indian players are under extreme pressure and fear of their lives to deliver
 
Pakistan overachieve then get fans expectations very high and then naturally get exposed at some point.
 
I wouldn't call Pakistan chokers, they're just mediocre.

The only chokers are South Africa. They've had some memorable chokes.

Actually chokers is a complement. That means you were expected to win and you disappointed them. Chokers vs Mediocre. You would rather take chokers.
 
South Africa

Pakistan overachieve massively due to a multitude of factors. The fans have too high expectations from the team, to make it to a point where they got to compete with England’s golden generation is a massive feat.

Bangladesh never win anything, but they have bottled some key games in the past.

India need a trophy, whether they have been choking or simply not there, we will find out in their home tournament
 
India need to fix one issue which is of an opener, you know what I mean I guess. Then they will no longer be chokers. :inti

Choking is usually associated with losing from winning position or in unexpected situations like Pak vs Zim or SA vs Ned.

The whole “unpredictability” factor of Pakistan looks sexy as our coach Dravid says but the other side of the coin is choking. I 100% agree with him with the sexy fast bowling phrase though :)

But you can't put India and NZL in same category. India have been underachievers in last 8 years. NZ have been consistent performers and generally lose vs the better team.
 
Considering the number of semi-finals and finals they have made in the best 8 years or So, I would Say India, South Africa, and New Zealand are up there too

Pakistan might be getting that tag soon, if we lose another final, I think it would be safe to say we might be considered the new chokers in town, hopefully if we can make another final. we can find a way to win it this time around

I think New Zealand are not chokers.They don’t play well against Pakistan.Pakistan in turn don’t play well against Australia (in Australia or outside).
 
If Pakistan make the finals in any format they have overachieved. This is not what choking means. We were not favourites against England.

Against Australia we lost the crucial UAE toss and then Hasan Ali happened.

SL was a failure though, and quite a big one.
 
South Africa followed by India. Bangladesh's choke is because of their inability at most times. Despite of what they can achieve from time to time, they still aren't anywhere close to beating big teams consistently. Pakistan still are good to win the knockouts and were just beaten by a better team who had a superior all-round team than Pakistan. Pakistan just had a great bowling attack but their batting was always a suspect.

South Africa are the biggest chokers who once again crashed and burned after looking million bucks at the start. Losing to Netherlands to get knocked out is a new low for them. Nothing to take away from Dutch who played brilliantly to win.

India well, I never expected them to win the cup from the start. They were lucky to reach the Semis. India's batting was a suspect and the bowling was non-existent expect for in Melbourne where the pitch had something for the bowlers. But yeah when you look overall in ICC tournaments, India just come second in terms of choking after SA. Numerous Semis and finals since 2013 but nothing to show for it. But this time though I wouldn't call it a choke, they were just shown how bad they were by a brilliant white ball team.

But I would not rank anyone above SA. For a team who have been one of the top white ball teams since their readmission in 91, they have just one ICC knockout trophy in 1998 to show for. That is a poor record for any top team. West Indies for all the problems they have had have 3 trophies since 2000, so SA have no excuse. So yeah SA are the biggest chokers in cricket, England were competing with them prior to 2010 but they are now the best white ball team in the world. SA though have gone from bad to worse in terms of choking. It is almost like they are afraid to win.

SA hands down are the biggest chokers I have seen in my life. Like bro, you had an easy entry to the Semi, choked so hard, lol.

I would also put ind/pak equally for 2nd spot. Been a while they have been chocking to lift any multi-team cups (like asia cup/worldcup)

Not sure what BD is doing there. Are they even contenders for lifting the world cup or any multi-nation cup for that matter? (maybe in ODI but not in the other formats)
 
SA is on another level of choking. This disease is spread across three generations since their readmission

Bangladesh hype themselves a lot otherwise they are at the level they should be at.

In the last few years, Pakistan has lost key matches and havent handled pressure well. The other day i read Pakistan has also lost a lot of decider matches in bilateral series apart from these semi finals and finals. I dont remember when was the last time we won a decider (last game) of bilateral series

India again, they think of themselves as world beaters like Australia were in late 90s and 2000s which they are not
 
India are not chokers, choking is throwing away winnable positions. India don't do that, they can lose comprehensively or lose a tight game which can go either way, but India, doesn't throw away winnable positions that often.
 
South Africa is the biggest choker of them all. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and others don't even come close.

Only a choker par excellence can choke against Netherlands.
 
Depends on the time frame. Historically, I'd say SA. But in recent years, they have not had the players to compete at that level.

BD don't have the talent.

India also dont have the players if you actually observed our recent white ball squads. You could maybe argue that CT 17 was a choke by India, at a stretch .

India has become bilateral bullies. They win every series with some B string side. Then they go with main side come a cropper at the ICC event.
 
Nz are number 1 chokers in limited over cricketThey lost 2015 final,2016 semi final 2019 final 2021 final and 2022 semi final
 
No offense to bd but there name in above list doesn't make sense .They haven't done much to carry that tag

Agree.No disrespect to BD but it hasn’t made notable progress since it became full member of ICC.BD has played well every now and then but it has not been consistent.

Oops, i didn't knew about 75, 79!! And there are some t20 wc semis also where they choked other than the last one. 2007 and one more i think.
