Who are Asia's top 10 fast bowlers ever?

Imran and Waqar were better than Wasim at their peak, but Wasim managed to keep on performing consistently throughout his whole career which puts him ahead. If Imran wasn't injured for 2 years during his peak he could've been the greatest test fast bowler of all time or in the top 3. Bumrah at this rate will probably break into the top 4 in one or 2 years.

Setting 150 wickets as eligibility criteria, there are 12 fast bowlers that qualifies to the criteria. I rank them as:-

1. Imran/Wasim
3. Waqar
4. Akhtar
5. Kapil
6. Vaas
7. Srinath
8. Zaheer
9. Nawaz
10. Ishant

11. Shami
12. Gul

So, that will be my top 10. Among those who didn't made it to eligibility criteria, Fazal Mahmood and Mohammad Asif deserves to be in there but latter has only himself to blame for. Don't know about former though, will be great if someone shares more about Fazal Mahmood.

Imran was not so good in the latter part as a bowler. Wasim was always fantastic and won his team the World Cup with performance from bowl, being the player of match.

Have you watched all the bowlers in their pomp? Coz theres no way Chaminda Vaas was better than Srinath, Zaheer and Shami. Malinga is hands down Lanka's best pace bowler ever. Also, its difficult to place Akhtar ahead of Kapil Dev. Or even Srinath.

Malinga has played 30 tests and got 100 test wickets only. In ODIs, he was great but disappointed.

Vaas has 350 test wickets at 29 and 400 Odi wickets at 27.

Vaas was very good..

In the late 1990s and early 2000s he was a genuine threat with the new ball.

And will put Kapil ahead of Akhtar. 434 Vs 155 wickets..

I think most of the list is pretty easy so, in no particular order:

Imran Khan
Wasim Akram
Waqar Younis
Shoaib Akhtar
Mohammad Asif
Zaheer Khan
Kapil Dev
Fazal Mahmood
Chaminda Vaas
Umar Gul

For the modern players (post 75) they are also being judged on all format performances...sadly Malinga just about misses out. Honourable mentions to Nawaz and Srinath.

Shami and Malinga ahead of mohammad asif?

Yes. Asif didn't got 150 wickets which is the eligibility criteria for me. Akhtar has and he is there at 5.

Wasim
Imran
Waqar
Kapil
Akhtar
Vaas
Zaheer
Srinath
Shami
Malinga

Afridi has a high ceiling. He has a lot of things going for him: age, decent pace, height, swing, good seam position and also a decent cricketing brain. If he stays fit and stays focused then he will most likely be in Asia's top 5 bowlers and potenitally an ATG.

I don't see Abbas going very far. He will probably finish as an above average player. He will be worked out unless he can develop an out swinger. If he can swing it both ways, he will be extremely effective and could finish in Pakistan's top 10 test fast bowlers. His slow pace will mean he can have a longer career. He is more suited to slower conditions.
