His record isnt the best out of the lot but he had the most impact and played some ATG innings, that 100 in Mumbia was just class.

For me it would be:

KP>AB = Cook > Clarke >> Amla = Hussey > Taylor>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BMac

KP was at ATG level between 2005-2009 and yet it was in 2012 that his Napier, Headingley and Mumbai came.Yes, he wasnt consistent but then who is:-among all the names mentioned.

KP> Amla> ABD> Cook= Clarke and then the rest. Perhaps Hussey> Taylor> BMac.

G. Smith made his debut in 2002, I'd include him as well.

Between him and Amla. There were few players who averaged 50 away who debuted in that decade, AB is one of them I guess.
In that order: Smith, Amla and AB, though the latter scored soft runs but averaging 50 away is no joke. For long stretches these boys performed in all conditions consistently and won matches. They have my respect. Cook deserves a shout out as well, he was phenomenal. Not great against quality attacks but did score away.

In terms of best all round game, it has to be KP but taking into account skills AND achievements, it is AB, followed closely by Amla.

Clarke, Cook and co are a level below those 3.

No South African ever had. SA lost that WC semis 2015 due to rain and bowlers.If you cant defend 300 in 43 overs, then you will never win.

Overall:- ABD by a mile.

Taylor is very good test batsmen and a great ODI bat as well.

Alastair cook by a country mile.....Yes Kp, hash and Ab are great but cook is way better than them in tests. The guy scored scored like a beast in two of the most torrid away tours.. one in ashes 2010/11 and the other in India in 2012. His recent form might just make him look less great but overall cook is way above the rest mentioned above.
