Who is the fastest bowler in Pakistan?

Gone is the era where express bowlers guaranteed victory because of their pace. Batsmen now are so used to facing high speed deliveries due to bowling machines it's kind of pointless now. I will take bowlers like asif, amir and Hassan over gul, wahab and Sami ..

Yeah, that was pathetic from PTI. But still he's been to NCA, had their been no nepotism he'd be one of the leading young upcoming bowlers now.

Nahin yaar. No comparison between the two. Wahab is a rhythm bowler who needs everything to fire for his action to click while Zahid has a flawless action engineered for pace and he's built like a cat. Very strong, explosive and flexible athlete mashaAllah.

Any video available?

Unfortunately for us speed is indirectly proportional to economy, wickets column, and brain cells.

I think the biggest issue may well be the pitches, they are more poorly maintained now due to lack of international cricket, this combined with the ball we use means that pace isnt exactly needed to get bags of wickets, so most never try or train themselves.

Always why Zia probably went backwards like many others

The pitches and the ball is a major issue and has been discussed quite a lot. Another issue is the low levels of fitness our domestic cricketers are allowed to get away with. I haven't seen many cricketers with the drive to train hard and push themselves.

There are far too many skinny and weak fast bowlers around in the domestic arena and on the opposite end of the spectrum there are bowlers carrying around a pot belly. Wahab and Sami have plenty of faults but fitness and a lack of strength isn't one of them. Sohail Khan is another guy who is very strongly built and in his younger days could crank it up to 145+ kph.

It may be due to a lack of resources especially financial but the fact remains they have poor fitness. After PSL though they really should not have any such excuse; any player who gets recruited by a PSL franchise yet doesn't try and push his fitness to the next level is simply lazy.

Even today there are kids coming up who have the basic ingredients to bowl quick and are quite pacy at the U19 level. For such cricketers adding strength will enhance their speed greatly. I hope the PSL franchises make it a trend to take young fast bowlers under their wing and expose them to good quality coaching and training. The franchise most active in this regard is Lahore Qalandars but the man in charge for them is Aqib Javed the man whose mission in life is to change actions of fast bowlers.

Fastest bowler in Pakistan at the moment?

I have seen a lot of bowling talent recently may it be Ehtisham Sultan, Ghulam Mudassar or Mohammad Umar (Only his tape bowl video although he was in LQ emerging players squad) but cant determine much as no speedometer was in place.

Ahmed Jamal was raved to be one of the fastest around when he won some speed competition.

Mohammad Talha was really fast, unfortunately we were not able to see his best at international level. Talha went upto high 140's at international level but he was faster in domestic.

But last recorded speed of 150 Kph above I saw was from Wahab Riaz, as for others playing in domestic there wasnt a speedometer in place.

Yes Amir and Hassan can both go upto 146, 147 Kph but,
Do you guys know who is the fastest around now a days?

Yasir Jan of LQ used to bowl 90miles with both arms according to Aqib Javed. What's his status? Will he be there in televised cricket sometime?

Mohammad Zahid Junior 148kph delivery ?

Someone capable of bowling 90mph with both arms should be shown in circus or stage shows as the impresarios does with unique things.

Someone capable of bowling 90mph with one arm should shine the cricket field ....

Why is that so? Has your mind got stuck up at a certain point and not willing to absorb something novel yet incredible at the same time.

The guy who can do this will get more confused himself than anyone else - he won't be able to execute bowling strategy. Bowling is a mind game, not a bowling machine job.

This is the same thought process where early man refused to use fire, thinking that it could kill all of them one day.

No one who is express. Express meaning consistently bowling 90mph plus not even Sami or wahab does that nd they are meant to be quickest. England have Wood and Mills- Australia have starc (had Johnson) SA have Rabada who is always pushing 90mph Boundary and Steyn and Morkel are not mugs when it come to pace. India have Yadav and bhuvi who has put on an extra yard or two comfortably and bumrah is always 87+. PK have no one bowling constant 87+ apart from Amir and even he is below bowling 82-85 after his second spells.

Irfan, Wahab and Sami used to be the quickest in Pakistan but with age, all of them have lost pace. They are on the wrong side of 30 and you can't expect them to go at full throttle throughout. Mohammad Sami and Wahab Riaz consistently bowl in the high 140's in 20 over games while Irfan bowls an extremely quick first over but they are not the future.

Mohammad Amir is regaining his pace slowly and within a year or so, by the time of the World Cup, he will hoepfully become one of the quickest bowlers in the world, consistently being able to bowl in the 140's. We've seen glimpses of it in important games, such as the Asia Cup match vs India and the CT Final. The lack of a serious attitude has cost him and he hasn't been able to make use of his complete ability but that will change under more months of Mickey Arthur.

As for Hasan Ali, he too has the ability to bowl in the late 140's and we can expect him to increase his pace further with time.

As far as the fastest bowler in Pakistan is concerned; apart from the ones already mentioned, I've heard that Yasir Jan can supposedly bowl 145 KPH with his right arm and Shaheen Shah Afridi is also capable of bowling around the 150 mark however, I don't buy into these claims, not at least until I've seen them bowl live. Also heard that Zahid is supposedly pretty quick. I think the guy that got two 10fers in his last two QeA games is also pretty quick, forgot his name.

Lol Yasir Jan is barely a 135kph bowler. (and Im being generous. Some have said 128-130)

Stop buying into Geo hype.
