Lot of people fuming at the moment but is there one or more people who should take the fall for this defeat?

Nobody lol. 4 of our top 6 scored 100s in this series. Yasir and Bilal both took fifers. Pacers did okay. In batting, openers suck, but that's not something that can be changed.

Pakistan always do poorly in the winter. This is expected. Watch them do well in 6 months. I think WC is in June so...

This is the issue. They score hundreds yet we lose. Shows you none of the innings are impactful.

I would do a complete re-change in this side. Get rid of Asad, Imam etc.

Ul Haq, Sarfraz & Arthur - in that order.

- Ul Haq, immediately (He must not select the ODI squad)
- Sarfraz, after SAF Test series (ODI must be under new Captain)
- Arthur, immediately after WC, since there is no cricket in UAE in between apart from AUS ODI. He must not remain coach for next home series in UAE when PAK has acid Tests against SRL & BD.

In terms of competence as well in that order -

Ul Haq should have never been CS, the worst personality for such role - morally corrupt, verbally hypocrite, professionally biased, spiritually un-passionate and personally lazy, laid back guy.

Sarfraz isn't the worst Captain, but he is struggling individually, over aged, unfit and his job profile doesn't suit Captaincy. Just not dynamic enough to lead a tactical team game and too ordinary to lead a struggling side from front.

Arthur is a brilliant Coach, but probably not fit for a team based in UAE. Clueless in operation outside comfort zone, but too proud to learn from mistake and rigid on own prophesy. Also, oblate he has started to play lot for gallery and has gone to compromise route. It's like Jose Mourinho syndrome - by 3rd year, should look for updating resume. Still a brilliant coach for WC in UK, but he has to speak up without fearing for job security.

Sarfi and inzy need to go Sarfis own performances with the bat have dipped alarmingly since he became test captain and tactically he seems inept in test cricket relying purely on yasir to win the games for the team

Inzy batting selections are bordeing on ridiculous, in a weak batting team he continues to pick the same failures over and over again

he recalled a 38 yr old opener who failed miserably again this series, he picks masood when he has no F.C. record to speak and is continuing to stick with his nephew when he hasn’t scored for a long time
There’s no back up batsmen to Seth Africa where historically the batting has always failed

It’s just ridiculous and he needs to be held accountable

The weak links clearly have been

Shafiq
Hafeez
Imam
Sarfraz
Bilal
Abbas

Hafeez has retired but should never have been recalled Abbas can be forgiven for a one off series, Bilal isn’t good enough and one wonders why he repeatedly keeps on being picked together with Imam who shouldn’t be on the tour of Sth Africa With his problems with the short ball and failure in 5 innings in a row- so that’s 3 awful selections by inzy in this series

Sarfi has been poor batting wise since he became captain and his position should be under severe pressure
You’ve got to qs his lack of use of hafeez and Harris Apart from yasir what’s the game plan?

There’s no excuse for shafiq who’s been around forever and still continues to underperform It’s about time he was made to go away and work hard to improve his game rather than enjoy the free ride he’s been getting over the last 2-3 years

Very well analysed. Top post this.

Inzy needs to be fired immediately. His past history is well known from his captaincy days to oath gate and now with the nepotism.

Inzi, Micky and Sarfraz all choose not give a proper leftie off spinner a chance since SL whitewashed us last year in UAE.

this is their biggest problem not giving the team a chance to do what they do good, every other team has a left arm spinner and they are usually vital to the teams sucess in Asia as you could have seen even in the Asia cup how much a left arm spinner becomes the ace of your team in these conditions.

Clearly Babar is being played too low down the order as you can see he runs out of partners to bat with eventually.

for us to win big test series again its the Azhar and Babar partnerships that can get us those 200+ partnerships other then that i dont see anyone doing it. Send Asad back to 6th position push Babar above the lazy Harris Sohail

Sarfraz has to go for rubbish performances and results. Inzi should be sacked for not selecting squads on the conditions. Not selecting a specialist spinner alongside Yasir has cost us 2 series now in the UAE.

No Changes in the squad till WC is over...Hopefully Sanity will prevail rather than knee-jerk reactions in this thread

Agree with each word.

Personally I think Sarfaraz Ahmed needs to be sacked from the Test captaincy. He clearly hasn't been performing with the bat whereas his wicket keeping duties are good. His captaincy has been under scope for quite some time specially in Tests. I genuinely think we should get rid of him from the test team and bring in Rizwan. More than anything, he needs a break and needs time to refresh. We have a tough schedule ahead and he has been a apart of them all and I personally think he needs to take some time out.

Well nothing happened and we are on our way to another series. Could this be the last for one of the candidates in the poll?
