Who should be dropped for the next game, Asad Shafiq or Umar Akmal?

Umar adds more value to the side. Can hit big in the end while Shafiq is a timid character and a waste of a spot in the side.

What kind of question is this ? Why would you drop Akmal, that too for Asad, who should have been in Pakistan after the tests .
 
Obviously Asad should be dropped and never play for Pakistan again in white ball cricket

shafiq provided the stability and allowed Malik to play his natural game.

No shafiq = no Malik 42*
 
Asad Shafiq(out of the two)

Umar Akmal can take the game to the bowlers.Honestly wouldn't select either of them.

What's the need to drop anyone? Or am I missing something. Surely you need to give more than one chance to Asad.
 
Dropping Shafiq wont be fair, if Azhar Ali isnt back, shafiq should get another go

Junior bhai looks unfit and fat but still Shafiq. He should be on the first plane to Pakistan. But, deep inside I want him to play too and fail miserably so that he isn't there for the CT'16.
 
A man with only half the intellect of Umar Akmal, will know that it is Akmal who is needed more than Shafiq.. UA maybe a t**l but he has power in his shots.. on the balance of the team that is a desperate requirement on our part, not timing and placement at a strike rate of 44, in the last 10 overs

We had 6 bowlers in the last game. Amir Hasan Junaid is already a weak tail.

Once Azhar gets fit, Asad drops. Simple as that
 
asad shafiq is a liability in LOI.... its shameful of Inzi one to select him and 2 not have any backup watsoever...
really y not give a youngster who might have a chance in fututr to tour rather than this tried n tested white ball game crap... still love him in red-ball cricket lol
 
Rizwan, Amir, Nawaz and Hasan can all do what Shafiq did. Nobody can finish the game the way Akmal can though.
 
Selectors missed a trick by not selecting a fast bowling all-rounder or another middle order batsman instead of Asad. I would take both Kamran Akmal and Khalid Latif over Asad in ODIs.
 
Anyone saying Akmal is not thinking straight.

I'd drop Shafiq and send him to Pakistan on the next flight.

Nawaz can come in and easily play the role of averaging 25 with a SR of 65, along with the added benefit of his bowling.
 
Look I know Shafiq isn't anything great in ODIs, actually he is pretty bad, but he needs to be given the rest of the series so that we can finally close the Asad chapter for ever.

Yuo, Mohammad Hafeez will be most fluent at Asad's spot facing spinners and first change bowlers while Asad can be given a shot at buliding his innings.
 
Umar akmal should be dropped (not sure why he is there in the first place).... there is always a high chance of a collapse on the cards with Pakistani batting and Asad is better suited to steadying the ship. He needs to move down one place.
 
Umar Akmal.... Asad is very Calm Character... Asad can bat in India, Pakistan, UAE.. Umar Akmal deserve to be in the team.. if he play's his shot accordingly a Superb Star in Making lol.. Still..
 
unless Azhar is back neither

one thing i dont wanna happen is for Shafiq to be dropped prematurely after just 2 games and this 'bad treatment' be used as a justification for a recall later

Make the Final Judgement on Shafiq's ODI career this series
 
Silly thread. Choice is clear if you look at current form or overall record. Shafiq doesn't belong in the side
 
Lol Umar doesn't deserve to be dropped. Should be batting where Shafiq is now
 
lol is that even a question? even a broken stick add more value than Asad Technique in One Dayers!
