Yasir Shah's name has been announced but what about other candidates? Surely others could have been considered and possibly better choices?

I can't believe YASIR SHAH has been selected AGAIN. Could have given anyone else a chance.

I can't believe you select yasir if you have so manay other options.
Umer khan
Usama mir
Mohammed irfan
Zafar gohar
Even bilal asif would have been better

Issue is . . Shadab was also expected to hold the fort as a batsman down the order should top order collapse . .

As it is, anything less than 3 front line fast bowlers is a recipe for disaster . . (No, Faheem ashraf is not good enough to be play in the top 3 fast bowlers) . .

With Yasir, you'll have 4 out and out bowlers . . this is looking very bad for Pak!

Pakistan isn't producing good spinners these days. Where is Zafar Gohar?

He is there still performing, however Inzi and co love Yasir because he is a leggy without realizing his style lf bowling isnt suited to LOIs unless he changes his natural pace or develop some variety. Even his List A stats are poor.

Umer Khan showed his composure and talent in PSL so he could have been selected as an unknown comodity. If they had to go for someone who could bat a bit as well than Nawaz was a better option but Yasir’s performances, fitness and record nothing asks for inclusion.

WC is not the tournament where you can send a newbee with some good spell in IPL, so Umar Khan is out for me . You need an experienced spinner . Zafar and Nawaz qualify for that, Shah is not an ODI player for me. I will prefer Nawaz , as he is a better all round spinner, good batsman and fielder too.

Teams are selecting 2 specialist spinners but Pakistan not selecting 1 is the right choice according to some posters. We are known for reading conditions wrong and people still back this clueless think tank .

Mohammad Irfan (legspinner). I wont go into details about his bowling, but atleast he can spin the ball both ways.

No need to go with 3 SLA spinners in Imad, Haris, Zafar/Umer, it doenst make any sense. Also no need for a non-spinner like Yasir.

When we get hammered in England, the think tank will be surprised as to what went wrong.

Yasir is an incredibly lucky guy - who knows he could turn things around for himself on this tour?

Yasir can't bat, can't bowl and can't field. The only thing he does is getting selected in WC squad somehow.

Umer Khan. Honestly, I am so annoyed still about Yasir Shah being selected. Honestly, I'd rather bring Azhar Ali back as a leg spin bowler only as opposed to Yasir Shah

Zafar Gohar. The guy who actually spins the ball. Don't know why he's overlooked these days. Wasn't even picked for the Pakistan Cup.

Why is everyone picking a left arm spinner when Imad will certainly play ? Our fans like our think tank are so one dimensional. The spinner to replace Shadab would have to be a right arm off spinner or another leggie.

That is rubbish. You play your best bowlers. If you want the replacement to be a leggie, then what's wrong in selecting Yasir ?

Thing is Yasir was selected in Aus series being a wrist spinner so supposedly a wicket taker however he not only didnt take wickets at crucial stages but also leaked runs.

Even if management thinks someone like Zafar Gohar, Raza Hassan, Umer Khan or even Nawaz arent wicket takers atleast they can bowl tightly in crucial stages.

I agree, there is no point in forced variety when you dont select number of spinners with better List A averages than Yasir just because they dont add much variety to the attack.

I can understand the variety logic if two spinners are almost same caliber in white ball cricket but when there is a huge gap than you cant compromise on quality because of variety.

Yasir is rubbish in LO. Umer Khan only has PSL performances so far. He is yet to prove he is the best spinner in Pakistan.

Only Pakistan would play 2 specialist left arm spinners . You need to ensure your team has all bases covered.

Yasir is selected and that’s correct decision. And, 5 ODIs were invested behind him so close to WC.

We can debate on how good or bad in ODI Yasir is, but PCT management didn’t try any other spinner for last 3 years, and it’s not possible to introduce a new spinner four weeks before WC. If Imad missed the WC, I would have written same for Nawaz.

It was a blunder of highest order not to try any other spinners for 4 years once it was found that Yasir wasn’t the best back-up & Nawaz doesn’t offer anything extra than Imad or Haris.
