What about Shoaib Malik? He's opened before and averages 53 at the #2 position (albeit a small sample size, and he averages 29 at the #1 position). He could open with Sharjeel if he gets cleared, and it would open up a slot in the middle order for someone like Zaman or Salahuddin or maybe even Fawad Alam
You must be kidding. Malik can't play pace. Even when the ball is older, his feet are stuck in the crease while he scores his favorite boundaries through the empty slip cordon. He can't score those when the slip fielders are in for the first few overs.
