Basil D'Oliveira?

Tony Greig?

Allan Lamb?

Robin Smith?

Kevin Pietersen?

I reckon Greig who was a very good all-rounder, averaging forty with the bat in a strong era, could bowl FM behind Snow and Willis yet won a match in WI with off-spin, superb slip, and highly attacking captain. A huge loss to England when he went to Packer.

Then KP who was excellent with the bat even though he brought strife.

From this list it has to be kp.

He is the best English Batsman of all time let alone best Saffer Batsman

Nah. Best since 1970, perhaps, though Boycott suppporters would take issue even with that. And KP never drove all before him like Gooch did from 1990-93.

Anyway I said cricketer not batsman.

I think KP wins this one.

He underachieved a lot but he was definitely the best South African to ever play for England.

Yes but Gooch was mediocre outside that.

I will go with KP. Only he walks into England all time XI in both tests and ODIs.

I knew the old era hype loyalist in you was going to say "nah" to KP.

Easily KP. And I'm not even a fan lol. Robin Smith was an underrated player of genuine fast bowling though
