So as you guys may have got an idea, I really back the current Pak team and think we will do great as a team in future. We have all bases covered but the only area where I dont know a potentially world class player in our domestic is a batsman against spin like Younis Khan.

We have Azhar , Haris and Babar all three quality players against fast bowling. Then we have Usman Salahuddin who again is technically pretty good against fast bowlers and knows his off stump. Still we need 1 batsman like Younis in Asia who can destroy spinners, take game away from opposition and can score daddy hundreds. I doubt we would have lost the SL tests if we had Younis even with the selection blunders we made. Sarfraz is quality against spin but bats too low and not someone who i can rely scoring big hundreds (at no 6/7).

So who do you think is our Younis Khan in domestic cricket who can take Younis' place in international cricket. One name that comes to mind is Fawad who is pretty good against spinners but not someone at Younis' level and will only be a temporary solution.

Unfortunately Shoaib Malik is probably our best player against spin. Shame he has retired and cannot play the swinging ball!

Haris Sohail looked like the best player of spin from our current line up.

We'll be lucky to ever find a player as good against spin as Younis was. Forget about replacing him in the short-term. ATGs are not easily replaced.

How’s Usman Salahuddin against spin? SarfiBabarHaris

Haris is a contender, but there is one other name I would mention: Saad Ali. He is strong against spin, and like YK whilst he is not the most aesthetically pleasing batman, he is effective and has an appetite for big hundreds.

What I find remarkaly strange is Babar Azam is very good against Spin in LOI's and hardly seems troubled but becomes a dud planting his front foot out way to early in tests.

Playing spin is child's play for all Pakistani players as the last Sri Lanka series amply illustrated. We don't need players who do well against spin.Particularly since we play most of our Tests in the subcontinent on pitches that aid spin. We need players who look like they have some PP fan's fantasy of a proper technique against an imagined wildly seaming and moving ball on an imaginary Aus/Eng pitch where we may play once or twice every ten years.

There won't be many like Younis Khan.

Already some are realising how inportant he was to the Pakistan Test team - 2-0 versus Sri Lanka for starters.

Usman Salahuddin is a good player of spin, if he ever gets the chance at international level.

The best player of spin in the country at the moment has got to be fawad Alam. Unfortunately his technique doesn't attract the eyes of pp.

Sarfraz is good against spin.Azhar has improved miles against spin but it’s still a weakness.Haris also looked pretty good against SL.

Sarfraz, Haris, Azhar even Asad are sound against spin, no one as dominating as Younis though but that's not what the team needs. Bigger worry is against pace which Younis was awful at anyways. We have struggled against quality pacers (Broad, Anderson, Steyn) even in UAE.

Who is the best player of spin out of:

Fakhar Zaman
Saad Ali
Fawad Alam

Fawad was made to look a tailender by Maxwell so he's our of the equation. Its a close call between Saad and fakhar. As for Usman I haven't seen him much against spinners.

I’ve never really seen Fakhar against a turning ball. When it’s not turning we know how deadly he is though.
