As it stands right now the following teams have won, ODI WORLD CUP, T20 WORLD CUP, CHAMPIONS TROPHY.

Pakistan, West Indies, India, and Australia Sri Lanka.

If one of these 4 teams, are to win the on-going ICC TEST CHAMPIONSHIP, than history will be made, since they will have won all 4 ICC trophies.

Will be interesting to see who can create history, you would back India, or Australia to achieve this, however would love to see Pakistan be the first team to do this.

Windies and Sri Lanka seems like the most unlikely to achieve this first, maybe in the future, they can if they improve their test team, who knows, but as it stands it seems like either India or Australia can make it happen.

Australia, India, and even Pakistan have the best chance.

All 3 have already won CT, World T20, and ODI World Cup. They also have decent Test teams.

England are yet to win a CT. NZ haven't won an ODI World Cup. West Indies do not have a great Test team. Even Sri Lanka have declined.

I think Australia may do it first. I expect them to win the WTC title very soon.

India has the best chance. Australia and England has the second best chance. Pakistan if they can fluke a win at the WTC Final (i.e if they reach the final by a fluke in the first place)

Currently PCT doesn’t seem to be even close to winning WTC.

Never count out Pakistan. They are always unpredictable.

Also, they have a better Test team now.

But, I think Aussies have a better chance than Pakistan and even India.

Aw yes all of Pakistan wins in the final or important wins, seem to be a fluke eh. If you reach a final and win the final its not a fluke, give credit to a team were its due when they win, whoever that team is.

India would be a big favourite out of all he teams who have won everything else so far, Australia is not what they were before and even lost to a second string team at home, but they would still be in the top 2 choices

Would be interesting if Pakistan and India end up playing in the final, not saying this will happen, just saying would be interesting ICC for one would be very happy with that final haha.

Well whoever among India, Australia and Pakistan is going to win their first ever WTC would complete the set.

West Indies and Sri Lanka can technically do it too. They have won ODI World Cup, World T20, and CT.

But, their Test teams are really struggling. So, it is unlikely that they can do it.

Test cricket doesn’t reward unpredictability. The only time PCT were ranked #1 they were actually very consistent.

India followed by South Africa.

LOL. How?

South Africa have never won an ODI World Cup or a World T20. They have only won a CT back in 1998.

South Africa have to win 3 different ICC trophies to complete the set.

Spot on Sweep Shot, some posters forget to read the whole OP, hahahaha

Sri lanka were joint winners of 2002 CT. Not really a clear cut victory for them, real win is winning it outright as India did it in 2013.

Secondly any team can win Test championship in 2023 but what would i regard a universal achievement will be a team winning

T20 World cup then ODI world cup then ICC CT and ICC Test championship ( winning all 4 events consecutively). Can any team ever do it ? I think West indies of 1974-85 could have done it.

In football we see Quadruple term used frequently that is winning EPL, Carabao cup, FA cup and Champions league in a single season. No team has ever done it tbh.

Oh then India first, then Australia, then England and Pakistan (Pak if they fluke)

England have not won a CT, so they do not count here. Also if you wanna talk about Fluke look at some of India victories hahaha

ICC considers it as a clear cut victory. Both India and Sri Lanka are considered as winners of 2002 CT.

SL have won the CT once as per ICC.

So, they can complete the set if they win the WTC.

I know some people are talking about Sri Lankans CT victory, but at the end of the day, they were declared Joint Winners, by ICC. At the end of the day rules are rules. Just look at how England won the World cup in 2019, but rules are rules, they hit more boundaries at the end of the day and that ended up being the tie-breaker.

That is still not correct. People are missing a link here.

Sri lanka has never won Test MACE officially.

England Pakistan India Australia South Africa have officially won ICC Test Mace.

It should be a set of 5 not 4.

1) ICC Test Championship
2) ICC Test Mace ( prior to 2019)
3) ICC T20 WC
4) ICC ODI WC
5) ICC CT

Sri lanka/West indies are out if it as they did not officially win MACE from 2003-2019.

We didnt consider A Mace because the test championship is basically like the world cup for the test cricket. By that note, we can include, u19 world cup winner, as well if you like

Test mace is not a ICC trophy. It doesn't have same weight as world title or CT.

Official ICC trophies are 4: World T20, ODI World Cup, WTC, and CT.

If Sri lanka’s 2002 ICC Champions trophy win is carrying that much importance then

Pakistan’s Nehru cup win 1989
India’s 1985 Benson and Hesges cup win

Should carry higher value as they won it outright. I have never seen Ganguly talking much about 2002 CT win or Vikrant Gupta or other cricket analysts talking much about that farce of 2002 CT.

Again, it is about what ICC has decided.

ICC counts Sri Lanka's win in 2002 as a full win. Sri Lanka are officially considered as a 1-time CT winner.

Nehru Cup is just a bilateral tournament. So is Benson and Hedges Cup.

My Dear ICC Test Mace was a significant trophy i am baffled how it could be ignored. Aussies used to fight tooth and nail to keep hold of it. At that time it was equal to world test championship up until 2019.

It was not equal to world championship. Nobody treated it as a world championship. It was there just to see who was #1 in Test ranking (just like ODI ranking and T20 ranking).

New Zealand are the first official Test world champions. It was just ranking before that.

It no Longer exist, you can include if you want, my thread was about current ICC trophies, but fine weather you include it or not, at the end of the day a team has a chance of making history

Thank you :) sweep shot is always Spot on MashAllah :)

Test Mace is like number one ranking that’s it. Person who thinks test mace is an ICC Championship is a

Correct.

Teams didn't even play equal number of series. There was no real structure.

Kindly read it on Official website it is in wikipedia as well.

The rankings system was called ICC Test Championship, until the inauguration of ICC World Test Championship in 2019. From 2003 to 2019, the top-ranked Test team was awarded with the ICC Test Championship mace and the top team at each April 1 cut-off was also awarded a cash prize, the winners of which are listed below.[5][6] The mace is now awarded to the winners of the ICC World Test Championship.[7]

There was also a thing called ICC ODI championship. It doesn't mean these "championships" have same statuses as world championships and CT.

Check here: https://internationalcricket.fandom.com/wiki/ICC_ODI_Championship.

Check here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICC_Men's_ODI_Team_Rankings.

The ICC Men's ODI Team Rankings (formerly known as the ICC ODI Championship) is an international One Day International (ODI) cricket rankings system of the International Cricket Council (ICC). After every ODI match, the two teams involved receive points based on a mathematical formula. Each team's points total is divided by their total number of matches played to give a rating, and all the teams are ranked in a table in order of rating.

ODI world cup started in 1975.
So ODI championship has different value.

ICC Test Championship started in 2019 unlike ODI World cup 1975.

So only parameter prior to 2019 ( in Test cricket) was ICC Test Mace.

So 2003-2019 winners of ICC Test mace carry huge importance.

Only Ind/Aus/Pak once any of these 3 will win ICC Test Mace will rightfully claim quota of 5 trophies.

The ODI world cup was the best trophy that could be won by a team in the ODI format.

Test cricket, being the format that it is, was a format which made it hard to have a world cup. So Test mace was the best trophy that could be won by a team in the Test format, until the WTC was inaugurated. So the Test mace certainly held value.

ICC Test Championship no longer exists. It has been replaced with World Test Championship. So, teams like Sri Lanka and West Indies can't win ICC Test Championship mace even if they want to.

Therefore, if SL and WI win the WTC, they can complete the set.

Also, you are the only person who is thinking World Test Championship mace was an ICC trophy. Nobody else here has that view. Not even ICC.

Test mace is just given to number one ranked team. People have no knowledge f cricket thinking it’s a championship. Even ICC doesn’t count it as one lol

Test mace has no knockouts. No Equal number of series. Not based on points. You don’t get stars on ur jersey if u win one. But people still want to count it as a trophy lol.

India or Australia.

I think we'll most likely have an India vs Australia WTC final in 2023 so it could very well be 'winner takes all'.....literally.

What's the definition of a championship?

There is a difference between a world championship and a regular championship.

World T20, WTC, and ODI World Cup are world championships. CT is a low-key world championship. Others are regular championships (for example - Asia Cup, Ashes etc.).

I think India will be the first team, this gen is one of the best already and the youth coming in will ensure quality remains top notch.

WT20 in Aus, WC in India, followed by WTC in England and then CT in Pak.

Would be an amazing feeling to see Pakistan achieve this, But if not Pakistan I wouldnt mind Australia, they are true kings of cricket, so if they were to achieve this even if your not a fan of their team, you can argue the success they achieved in the game of cricket

I don't know which country will do it. But i know that New Zealand will be first to be runner-up in all of them.

The way u hav put it, must be said India lost some serious bragging rights by losing to Kiwis in one bad session. Having said that, this record won't mean much because the way cricket is going this record will be talked about only in 4 or 5 countries - Ind/Aus/Eng/Pak/NZ. Other nations (remaining 5-6 of them) care only for T20 cricket, rest everything is distraction.

For that to happen; Pakistan have to start winning / drawing matches in NZ/Aus

Pakistan. It has world class bowler in Shaheen and world class batsman Babar. Future is bright. It has potential to be the best team in the world.

India has best chance.
They were first team to win World cup and Champions trophy (alongwith Lanka)
First team to win a WC, CT and WT20.
First team to win two WCs, two CTs ad a WT20.
:qdkcheeky

Lol first win anything in SENA country's . When was Pakistan won a test series in SENA Countries?? I think it has to be NZ in 2010-11 where they won 1-0 .

Had NZ won the WT20, they'd be in the race as well because I believe they've already won (joint-winners?) the ICCT and they'd just need to win the WC. Of the teams that have all but one, surely Aus/Ind are frontrunners. The remaining 3 teams have a pretty bad test team. If Pakistan started playing tests at home though we'd have an even chance as Aus/Ind.

India didnt win the ICC Test Championship during its first edition they lost in the finals, typical choke from your team. You might hate Pakistan team, but the future does look bright for them, as per india it seems, their peak season was well over a while ago, just going to be downhill from here for you guys :)

It has to be Australia. They might have won wtc already if they had not skip the south African tour last year. Anyway they just have a quality bowling to win anywhere

WI and SL have no chance at all, Pakistan also has very little chance .

Out of India and Australia , both can do it but if have to bet, I would go for Australia. Australia will improve in coming years, but can't say that about India . Kohli has peaked already and you need a player like Kohli at top of his game and captaincy to win the test championship. You don't produce a player like Kohli every day.

I see a lot of runner up and semi finals it just shows india had a knack for choking and truth is good team or great teams find a way to win. India team is good but a little overrated by their fans.

Yeah I guess we will wait and see how many icc trophies they win during this decade I only see one win and that might be the test championship or odi world cup in 2023 since india is host

Who won most ICC Trophy in Last decade??

Pakistan currently looking good in world test championship, still a lot of series to GO, but really hoping we can make the finals atleast, once in the finals its anyways game, and a chance for Pak to make history :D

India/Sri Lanka were the first teams to win both the ICC trophies in 2002.

India were the first team to win all three ICC titles in 2007.

Most likely it'll be India who will be the first team to win all four ICC titles in 2023. Indian test team will be unstoppable with duds like Pujara, Rahane, Ishant etc long gone.

Think our poor performance in last WTC Finals was due to lack of preperation and had nothing to do with it being in England.

NZ got to play 2 test matches in similar conditions and got a head start before the finals. It is known as a farce for a reason and why no one rates NZ as best test team even with that WTC win.

We are leading 2-1 in same England now with still a test to go. A top team like India is not condition dependent.

Yes, the same place where we are leading 2-1 (3-1 if not for rain).

Unless the we lose the toss again, lose two and a half days to rain and collapse on the 6th day trying to go for a win, we will be fine. :inti

One of India or Australia will have a chance at making history, the winner of the Test Championship will be the first team to win all 4 ICC trophies, wow.

If WTC final is a draw, trophy gets shared. So, both teams may make history.

But, I think Australia should win it.

Your right about the draw didnt think of that either haha, but if its drawed is it confirmed trophy would be shared, or would the team who finished first in table win the trophy.
