Peshawar on a roll, Karachi experiencing a dip.... Who can win and go to the final?

I think PZ will be too strong for us. Their bowling is firing on all cylinders and batting is good too.

KK should be the fresher team as Zalmi played a tense match today.

But KK batting is no match for Zalmi. If they can bat out of their skins, they have a chance.

Happy with either but would like to see Karachi play in front of their home crowd. It adds to the occasion.

It looks like there might be rain tomorrow during the match (keep in mind I'm in the USA so for me it's still March 20). If the match is called off, would karachi progress to the final?

Dawson's bowling may be a liability on this lahore pitch, he was so close to failing to defend 25 runs in one over! That's crazy! I was scared in the middle overs about his last over, I just knew they'd go all out on his bowling :/. Well he shouldn't be bowling when afridi comes out to bat, that will be so costly.

Hoping that Karachi destroy Peshawar tomorrow. Don't want to see Hafeez winning another PSL. Also, Karachi going to the final means the match is certainly going to be sold out.

Bhai jaan Karachi final is already sold out

Lol its a team game, that's like saying you don't want pakistan to win the CT because hafeez played. Karachi is already sold out, and Zalmi will break your heart in a matter of hours. :D

Don't be so confident... I see the same tone in your post that the Indians had on 17th June but we all know what happened on 18th June :afridi

Many Indian hearts were broken that day.. a similar fate waits Karachi tomorrow inshallah. Zalmi to retain PSL3.

Would like Karachi to win to see the celebrations if Karachi wins in Karachi. Chouti chouti koshyaan. Althought I despise Karachi owner and ARY channel brigade.

But it's only Karachi by name, most of the team doesn't come from Karachi. I think Sammy and his team will get a lot of support in the finals.

That is how franchise leagues work all over the world. It boils down how team management uses its resources.

Obviously Peshawar. Karachi stand no chance here. Peshawar is too strong for karachi. Wahab with his 150ks thunderbolts getting ready for poor Karachi. Sorry karachi fans you will be heart broken today. Just need to make sure they score more than 150 then obviously our bowling is too strong for Karachi.

First of all, I'm an Islamabad fan who are without a doubt going to lift the trophy, so the rest can just fight for the #2 spot. As far as Peshawar is concerned, they also have Kami on their team which makes it even worse. So supporting Peshawar is completely out of the window. :sendoff

Yep, old eyes seem to be getting to me:misbah4

I mean if an international team plays at home in a final there's something to be passionate about. But a domestic t20 team with most if not all players not from Karachi, I just don't think such a devotion to Karachi makes much sense. If people genuinely support Karachi and want them to win that's understandable, but to say you'd want them to win for the sake of playing at home, that doesn't make much sense to me since most players are not from Karachi.

Either way, the final will get a lot of support. Sammy gets afridi treatment in pakistan, and the zalmi team is more exciting to watch then the kings so I believe they would make a better final against IU.

They do have one guy from Karachi :manzoor

Yes, I think we need about 160-170 to feel secure, and we have the bowlers to take them down. Hasan Ali and wahab riaz with their magic, Umaid asif and sameen also to back them up. Dawson will probably be targeted again, hopefully he can pick up his game as that was a really poor last over.. almost lost the game defending 25!

Who has a fan following in the Zalmi team except Hasan and Sammy? Karachi have the likes of Amir, Babar and Imad on whom people will go gaga over. On top of that, IU and Karachi have a head to head of 5-4. Personally, I see a more exciting match if KK and IU are in the finals.

The foreign players represent Karachi, they wear Karachi jersey so I don't see why they cannot call Karachi home. That's the only way to move forward, this is after all league cricket, which is run by capitalism and not nationalism to make things competitive and fun. Similar to NBA, NFL and MLB, I am more interested in how each team is managed and which players they go after than who is from the hometown and whatnot.

Ahhh I thought you came accross as a Karachi fan, now I realise it was because you dislike kamran and hafeez. Kamran, I hope plays a good knock v Karachi, a bit unlucky today, I'm feeling a half century coming. When Zalmi get to the final, IU won't be able to stop them from retaining. Our bowlers will win us that match Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz.

Lol I'd rather watch Sammy, Hasan and Wahab every day of the week. Sammy alone in pakistan probably has more fan support then Amir, Babar and Imad combined. Never mind head to head, it'd be a boring game we just saw Karachi beat IU with ease without their main players, and then a first choice Islamabad XI destroy Karachi. I want a good exciting game, not a one sided beating, and I only see Zalmi capable of making it more exciting and also the more likely of the 2 teams to take Islamabad down.

Kami has already exceeded his quote of runs so he is bound to fail. On top of that, because he will face a quality attack, there is no way that Kami will go on to score a big one.

Wahab doesn’t have much of a following and Amir still overshadows Hassan because of the CT final. I know Sammy has a large following in Pakistan, but you’re over selling him. He may get the support in Lahore, but in Karachi for the final, Islamabad will get the support given that they face Peshawar simply due to local talent.

Apparently afridi is out of the tournament and is replaced by mukhtar ahmed

Is that true? I wonder how they will select the playing XI then - do they go for like for like replacements and swap Morgan with Bopara and Afridi with Usama? Or maybe Imad makes a surprise comeback in place of Afridi. Does anyone know if Imad has recovered and is fit to play? Simmons is another option they could go for given how terrible Khurram is.

Peshawar's bowling is strong, but their batting is vulnerable. Tamim returning is a big positive for them. Dawson really bailed them out of jail yesterday otherwise they wouldn't have had enough runs. The kings will need to do something similar and take out their top order cheaply if they are to win.

You really wana see Karachi playing the final at National Stadium. The atmosphere will be electic. Go Karachi! though I have supported Zalmis a bit more than other teams.

Peshawar Zalmi have announced that Tamim Iqbal will be unavailable for their Eliminator 2 game against Karachi Kings as he has to travel to Bangkok for medical assessment because of a knee injury; He may still return for the PSL Final if required #PSL2018

Peshawar have basically just won four knockout matches in a row. No reason they won't make it 5. The only thing stopping them is the injury to Sammy.

Being the leading run scorer, I think he will perform in the big games, if not today then in the final when we get there. Usman shinwari is a good bowler, but I'm not worried about Kakmal or others facing Amir on current form.

Hasan And Wahab ala Mitchell Johnson will be more loved in pakistan compared to Amir, and Zalmi is a fan favourite team. I don't think that's true, there would still be more Zalmi than IU supporters in the finals, I'm pretty sure about that.

I wish to watch today's' game for the BD players & for Amir. My hunch (don't curse me later), is that KK are going to lose it.

What I feel is that LQ & KK are BIG City teams, therefore there are too many disturbance in the team from off the field distractions. Besides, there are too many stake holders in the team affair, which creating a chaos from draft to even appointing Captains. Amir is probably 6th or 7th Captain for KK in 3 years and they also have another "leader" in Lala.

It's not surprising that IU & PZ are consistently doing well, because of the composed nature of their owners. Javed Afridi, Ali Naqvi are definitely passionate, but they leave enough space for the Captain & support staff; so did QG with Sarfraz & Moin.

KK still might edge past it, because their attack is good, player to player squad is slightly better still while PZ is playing back to back game and they had a real scare yesterday, which isn't good for your nerves.
