Liverpool vs Manchester City: Who will come out on top in Jurgen Klopp's 'final battle' with Pep Guardiola?

Mohamed Salah gives Liverpool their X-factor and they'll beat Man City on Sunday if he plays.

Without him, I don't see how Liverpool are going to hurt City on a consistent basis. With Salah, they'll get after Man City and put them under severe pressure by closing down high up the pitch.

He is one of the best players in the world and takes chances - Liverpool will get enough chances to win if Salah plays. He carries that fear factor too and will make Man City think. He's back in training and they'll nick the win with him.

I believe whoever wins this tie, will take the title.
And if they draw?

I do find this game difficult to call

Based on a lot of factors you'd have City favourites but there is something about this Liverpool side, they have a resilience like no other team in this league. The way they have won some games has been remarkable

I often have called them a lucky side but when it keeps on happening it isn't luck. Reminds me a lot of Man U under Fergie, they'd never know they were beaten and always found a way

Plus City have a poor record at Anfield if I'm not mistaken and I think that will psychologically play a part in this game

I think City will dominate the ball as they often do, not be clinical enough and then Liverpool will punish them and take the 3 points

I think the way Manchester City is playing these days they clearly have an edge over Liverpool anyways it depends on the day and who dominates and absorbs pressure.

Haaland walks the talk and trolling Liverpool for that
====
Haaland on Alexander-Arnold’s comments about Liverpool’s trophies ‘meaning more’ than City’s: “If he wants to say that, okay”.

“I’ve been here one year and I’ve won the treble and it was quite a nice feeling, I don’t think he knows exactly this feeling…”,

It depends on the refs.

Generally, they favour LiVARpool a lot.

City should comfortably win otherwise.

It should be a cracker if both teams don't cancel each other out. The atmosphere at Anfield will be electric taking us to victory by the odd goal. I fancy Liverpool to win it 3-2 in the end with a late winner. Nunez has hit form at the right time then we have Salah and Dom back as well. If we were good enough to draw at their place then should win it at home although it won't be easy. Haaland doesn't know that historically there is no match between Liverpool and Man City also lets not forget the 115 charges hanging over his cheating club. His reply to Trent was a stupid as his haircut.

Pep Guardiola has joined the war of words against Liverpool by suggesting Arsenal are bigger title rivals for Manchester City.

The Citizens travel to Anfield on Sunday for a top of the Premier League table clash, with the reigning champions a point behind the leading Reds.

Ahead of the match, Trent Alexander-Arnold claimed that due to the financial differences between the club, winning trophies means more to Liverpool.

His boss Jurgen Klopp defended him, but City stars Erling Haaland and Ruben Dias hit back at the comments that have stoked the fire.

And now it's been Guardiola's turn to add to the discourse ahead of what could potentially be a title-deciding match this weekend.

When asked if it will be easier to face post-Klopp Liverpool next season, he said: "I would like to know, but I don't think so. Liverpool have always been Liverpool and the contenders are there."Guardiola then seemed to hint that Arsenal may well be bigger rivals for the title to City in a subtle dig towards the Merseyside outfit.

He stated: "Arsenal is already there, last season they were our biggest rivals. Look how they play."Liverpool need more than 90 minutes to win the game, sometimes more."Arsenal sometimes need just 25 minutes to win the games. That's why they are there.

"I guess Tottenham will make a step forward and [Manchester] United and Newcastle will maybe be back having one game a week.

"It's next season and I don't have the ability to think about what is going to happen next."

Arsenal sitting one point behind City means that there is a three-horse race for this season's title.

The Gunners led City for the majority of last season, but results in the latter stages dipped and they finished as runners-up.

Liverpool are also no stranger to rivalling City for the title, having done so in multiple seasons over the last ten years.

With just 11 games left to play, every result in the coming weeks will prove critical to all three sides' chances of going all the way.

And what better chance for Liverpool or City to set the tone this weekend as they lock horns in what could be a clash for the ages.

Pep losing touch with reality. It was only against Notts Forest that we needed a late goal. Had it not been for the Sheikh Pep most likely wouldn't even have joined Man City. We have won more trophies then Man City can even dream off where as let Arsenal win a few European Cup's before being compared to us. Idiot!

Pep needs to watch how we demolished Spartak Moscow with our eyes closed. We don't need to cheat the authorities or spend billion's to win competitions like his Man City do. I guess you can sometimes buy trophies but you can't ever buy history. Watch Man City fans leave the stadium like rats when they are losing 20 minutes before the full time whistle   . That is what your fake club is Pep with it's artificial supporters who only started following you after the Arab takeover.

If I was an Arsenal fan I'd want Liverpool to win.

You can sit in second without the pressure of being top and it puts City on the back foot a bit too.

Arsenal fans are already in fear of Haaland :D

A Liverpool win, would mean City would have to beat Arsenal at eithad. City couldn't afford to drop points into 2 huge games like this.

I think from the 3 contenders they are the best placed to absorb pressure so points dropped along the way will help you guys.

City should win 7 out of their last 8 games, only spurs away is tough for them.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have to beat City.

City are ahead here though 1-0 currently

1-1 Ederson lucky hes not got a red.

Draw is good here

City Rattled now, can Liverpool take advantage

5 mins injury time to go.. can someone sneak a winner.

Good draw in the end.

Liverpool vs brighton
City vs Arsenal next

Another crucial decision going against us by the pro Manchester EPL. It was a clear penalty yet the ref does not even bother going to the screen. First we were robbed of a clear goal at Spurs then denied a penalty versus Arsenal and now this. Don't tell me this is a coincidence. Okay, we got our share of luck versus Forest nonetheless had the goal and penalty been given we would be about four points clear at the top of the table.

The EPL and Football are corrupt to the core, many referee's get paid handsomely by the Arab's for refereeing in the Gulf too. This is why most decisions go in favour of Man City so to continue the pay checks. It just happens that this soulless club Man City is owned by the Arab's.

The day is not far when Footballers like Cricketers will begin fixing matches and deliberately under performing on the field of play. It's disgusting to say the least. The ref's and the EPL are doing their best to stop Liverpool FC from equaling Man Utd's twenty EPL title wins.

🤣🤣 spoken like a true Pakistani Liverpool fan, go dry your tears.

We won the league cup, are joint top of the league, still in the FA Cup and prospering in the Europa league too. What other EPL club is still in all competitions??:hasan2. The Liver bird is back sitting proudly on it's perch! You watching sir Alex and the rest??   .

Arsenal fans may be laughing now but they don't know what's coming for them ahead.

My eyes are dry! We are still joint top of the table then why would i be crying? We are in it to win it but the cheaters need to be called out.
You are crying because your making up a load of excuses like the whole world is against you. If you win a load of trophies it will be on merit, if you don't it will be because you fell short. Plenty of teams have had decisions going against them. This narrative that the whole FA etc. Is against Liverpool is comedy gold.

Stop playing the victim.

Not the whole world but the EPL and PGMOL are for sure against us like the said incidents prove. Do you expect me to rejoice over those decisions against us?. Nonetheless, it is too early to cry when we have a great chance is winning the EPL and possibly a further two more competitions adding to our Carabao Cup win  What three crucial decisions have gone against other top sides?. The truth remains the truth.

Plenty of decisions have gone against other teams as well. Your basically crying over 3 incidents as an excuse if you don't win the league. Saying EPL and PGMOL is against Liverpool is hilarious, what do either of these gain from Liverpool not winning a league? Stop playing victim and using excuses.

If you don't win the league it's because after 38 games you weren't good enough.

What decisions have gone against other top sides and if they have then complain about it too. When wrong decisions are made against Arsenal you guys beat your chests and cry bucket loads much harder then we do. See AFTV where everyone is a conspiracy theorist. That Diaz goal versus Spurs ruled offside was clearly a wrong decision that cost us possibly three points. If we lose the league by 3 points or less then have every reason to complain. Those incidents you talking about could have cost us up to seven points or something in case it has missed you. The PGMOL gain Arab money by making sure Man City win the league. Michael Oliver the referee mostly at the centre of controversies also referee's in matches held in the UAE so it all adds up for those who have the ability to think. Also, the pro Man Utd media does not want Liverpool to equal their 20 league wins. Next you will say their is no match fixing going on in Cricket either!

You keep bring up Aftv like that's they represent the entire Arsenal fan base.

By same logic every single Pakistani Liverpool I know talks utter garbage when it comes to football. Very easy classify an fan base in the same way.

What's match fixing in cricket got to do with you crying about Liverpool? Again making silly assumptions.

So the pro man united media does want Liverpool to win the league, what's that got to do with referees?

You are too embarrassed to claim them I understand that!! running away from the real questions cause you can't answer them!:cry::cry: We are the most successful club in the UK sunshine compared to you also rans who have nothing to boast about!! This is a painful fact for people like you to accept. If Cricket matches can be fixed then it can be done in Football too, that is what is has to do with it! I think you are some kid who can't count despite being explained too:love::love::love: I said Oliver the ref regularly officiated in the UAE where the owners of City are. He gets paid by the Arab's handsomely hence always makes pro Man City decisions to please them.

On a separate note altogether the British media are pro Man Utd so they do not want Liverpool to equal their record, here i did not mention the ref's being in cahoots with anyone. Now you will say something even more stupid like what record do they not want Liverpool to equal!! You don't have to worry because as an Arsenal fan your club are not breaking any records anytime in my lifetime.
