A thread to gauge how relationships and opportunities and performances go during Ramiz Raja's reign as Chairman.

Will we see Younis Khan back?
How will things develop with Mohammad Wasim as chief selector?
Will Inzamam ul Haq get a role in PCB?
Will Mohammad Yousuf still be working at the NCA given that Ramiz and him have had their differences in the past?
Will we see the likes of Aaqib Javed and Moin Khan getting roles under Ramiz's regime?

Winners:
Azam Khan
Asif Ali and all such incompetent players who Ramiz thinks possess an "atTaCkInG MiNdSet"

Losers:
Rest of Pakistan

The 1992 rotee club

Moin, Aaqib, Inzi, Aamir Sohail and Javed Miandad should expect to find some good ears at the PCB Hq

I think the veterans will be looking worriedly over their shoulders - Ramiz prefers youth in the team over experience any day of the week.

None. Pakistan public in Pakistan has long moved away from cricket. Maybe hard core fans of Pakpassion may be losers at the end and some commentators of PTV sports and Geo sports and such like:hasan2

Losers will be the negative media and the pessimist Pakistani fans
Winners will be crucketers and optimistic Pakistani fans.
There sure will be some positive changes in the mindset of management and the cricketing infrastructure.

Everyone wants a ride on gravy train. These ex cricketers do nothing and fight to get their hands on the loot.

Only if we had quality young talent(Ramiz will soon find this out, if already doesn't know ). However promoting & improving cricket at school level and club level will bring talent forward. but that will take a few years. that should be the long term goal

For short term we need to organize some talent search. Like a talent hunt for batsmen and then induct them in at first class level. On same lines as fast bowler talent search camps that were done a few years ago. We are not going to find test level batsmen from PSL.

Absolute nonsense. The public in Pakistan still loves cricket, you clearly aren't looking in the right place.

Our brilliant and ruthless big hitting talent like Khushdil, Asif and Azam will be the big winners. They've been afforded the biggest stage of them all to score ducks.

Mo Amir. I feel Ramiz may be having a word him him about a possible return.

Rameez has zero tolerance for fixing. He was one among those who were against Amir's return to intl cricket.

He wont even bother what and where Amir is or will be.. Amirs cricketing career has nearly ended or not available for the next 3 years for sure and i dont think he will comeback to play after 3 years time..

Done and dusted i guess..

Winners: every member of 92 world cup squad

Losers: anyone who played cricket in a sensible fashion.

Rumours were that Peter Moores will be appointed as head coach but no sources did say that Philander and Hayden are coming.

Looks like Ramiz keeps his cards close to him which is quite remarkable because otherwise every other news gets leaked by those leeches before they announce it officially..

Trying to understand, are you saying Misbah played it sensibly..

If then I would say Misbah played it poorly , and earned the name tuk-tuk and the most defensive person ever to play cricket. Overall a poor player and leader.

Just like other PCB chairman tenure; this is just a start.. Good talks that hardly materialized..
Only real power PCB chairman had over the years which they executed well was changing coaches, captain and players..

Apart from it , its difficult for RR to introduce new systems, make some changes at grass roots, as that is where all the bloody politics brood from..

PCB politics is deadly and a bloody mess, soon all RR promises will start vanishing. If person like Wasim Khan (who had a neutral view about ins and outs of PCB failed, then RR is bound to fail)

So far some big statements, let's hope that carries through on the field.

By the way I asked Aamir Sohail if he had heard from Ramiz since he took over as Chairman, as there were some rumours - Aamir said no he hasn't.

You know how all these ex players change their mind when they are in a position of power. Remember Mr U-turn Khan!

Well so far:

Misbah gone
Waqar gone
Wasim Khan gone

LAHORE: Babar Hamid resigned from his post of Director Commercial in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), sources told ARY News.

Babar has sent his resignation to PCB chairman Ramiz Raja as confirmed by the sources. But, PCB refused to confirm the resignation.

Remember, Babar was behind the DRS fiasco for the New Zealand series which could have gained ICC Super League Fixture’s points for Pakistan after the Black Caps canceled the tour at the 11th hour.

In his first conference as PCB chairman, Ramiz had ensured an inquiry against this matter. Before the inquiry, Babar resigned and sources further claimed that he wasn’t coming to the office for the last few days.

The worst I fear for is the grouping to be back! Pakistan cricket has always had issues associated with grouping especially based on caste or ethnicities where favouritisms were passed to groups rather than merit to individuals. This grouping disease has plagued Pakistan cricket for almost all decades from 90s through till 2000s. We saw the worst of it when oaths were taken against Younis.

Over the past decade this disease has been curtailed to a slight extent. Although there were still favourites and friends but there was no ethnic outcasting. Given Ramiz is taking us back to school of 90s this grouping will now I fear become more prevalent and is more harmful to our cricket than anything else.

Seems like Ramiz Raja was the best possible thing to happen to Azam Khan's career.

Chairman PCB Ramiz Raja met Governor Sindh Mr Imran Ismail at the Governor House Karachi today.

Day dreamers and idoits would be winners and Sane minded people will be loosers.

Seems to be going that way :D
