They are destroying their own product.
The guy by his own admission isn't fit. Yet he is being continuously played.
Down on pace by a good 10 Ks. Struggling to bowl a Yorker because of the injury. It's a shame the PCB medical panel hasn't stepped in.

Been harping about this since his first match.. Hes not fit!... He himself admitted hes only 70% there.
PCB continues to be inept as always. They should have stepped in after his first outing and had a word with the LQ management.
This guy has a good chance at a WC spot. Playing with an injured heel/ankle is only risking further injury.

It's obvious he should not be playing and this is the risk of such tournaments where franchises want to play players even though hey are carrying injuries.

it is better if lahore loses today and Qg wins exit of Lq will save shaheen and rauf from further worsening of their injuries

That's the only reason why I don't want Lahore to proceed to the semi-final stage. Both Rauf and Shaheen are playing with injuries that can cause a negative impact on their future careers.

I remember Sehwag was advised to have shoulder surgery just a few days before the IPL 2011 but he chose to play through his injury and delay his surgery after the IPL. His career never recovered since

His PSL 5 bowling stats:

Overs 18
Runs conceded 194
Wickets 3
Average 64.66
Economy-rate 10.77

He is not fit simple as that. He is a v good T20 bowler. I hope he focuses on getting fit. Heel or toe injuries takes time.

Pace down, no Yorkers, length wrong, line all over the place.

Looks a different bowler to the BBL.

Ridiculous honestly.. Aqib and co shouldnt be allowed to run rogue liek that potentially ruining someones career

He doesn't look 100% so should not be playing.

Having said that, when he is playing he needs to bowl better, he get's clobbered every single game I have watched. Must have a plan B also.

Imagine a match situation, WC finals and he get's injured during the match but the team has to bowl him and he is willing to bowl, then he should now how to make the most of it.

He might have underperformed because of his injury, but it is also abundantly clear that he is not international class.

A poor man’s Wahab at best.

This.

He is overrated.

Nothing impressive

He is not injured , he is just not performing well. Thats was not unexpected, honeymoon is over for him.

hard for people to accept that fact.
this is what happens when you overhype someone over a few games

Denial is our national sport.

We will make a million excuses under the sun before making peace with reality. Some people, or rather most people, take their emotional investment too seriously.

They have convinced themselves that Rauf will be a star for Pakistan but now they have trouble accepting the fact that it will not happen.

He is injured. Sohail Akhtar said their bowlers are all playing through injuries. Haris himself said he is 70% when he returned.

You can not lose 10-15kph of pace and the ability to bowl pinpoint yorkers in 2 months.

His ability is not the point of discussion here.
Him playing with an injury is a fact acknowledged by himself and the management and the fact that he is bowing 10 Ks slower is for everyone to see.
Let's not derail the discussion here

also lol at "ripping out".

He got absolutely banged in the final when it mattered the most

He got a 5fer and a hattrick in the BBL at an avg of 13.4 with 20 wickets
I don't know what else you call "ripping out" batting lineups.

Besides you do realise that the WT20 is in Australia and performances in BBL count for a lot more than performances in PSL.

I guess you're one of those who considers Kami and Tanvir as one the 1st names on the squad for the WT20.

Did you even read the thread title??

This ain't good news and a bit surprising. I made a thread about how the franchises were usually pretty good of taking care of their players..apparently not in this case.

Fit or unfit, he screams mediocrity. I now fully understand why Inzy went for Hasnain for the 2019 WC.

agreed, i think it has something to do with coaching as well as motivation, BBL team probably had a much more professional setup then LQ which helped him flourish, looks like he is left to his own devices in the PSL.

To me it has everything to do with fitness.. In the BBL, he was deadly accurate at 148 km/hr with both yorkers and bouncers aided with a good slower ball.. The hype around him there was real.
Hes seemed a shadow of himself in PSL. Clearly not fit, having pain when landing on his front leg. He should be taken care of instead of making him play with injury. When on song, hes a very very effective T20 bowler.

I think he's a good bowler, but when a player is not fit he should not be selected.

The guy is struggling badly.

A bit shocking this part from his interview

PakPassion.net: Tell us about the injury that prevented you from playing all games in this year’s PSL.

Haris Rauf: The injury to my right heel occurred during the first game and the doctors were in favour of a six-week break for me at that point. However, I played in the next game as well and the injury troubled me again. The medical advice then was stricter at that time and the doctors told me to stop playing or risk a stress fracture. I stopped playing from that point and missed the next few games. I felt a bit better after the rest and the team did need my services and the management asked me if I felt fine to play so I played three more games. However, it was clear that I was struggling due to this injury and so my performance was affected. The good news now is that due to the break in cricket, I have had time to recover and do rehabilitation work to be completely fit whenever cricket resumes again.
