Why are people assuming the results and acting surprised?

I kept hearing it will be a "shock upset" if Pakistan beat South Africa. Yes, Pakistan is rank 9 and South Africa is rank 1, but these are two professional outfits and anything can happen on the day. Plus, Pakistan has always been known to be a side that can turn up and destroy you when they feel like it.

Now the pundits are saying "India should beat Sri Lanka tomorrow" but again that is simply ridiculous. Sri Lanka is another team that can clobber you on the day. It seems like the cricketing world forgets that these things keep happening and are consistently surprised again and again when they do.

If SL have a chance to beat any team, its Pakistan. SL have been India's punching bag for quite a while now except that wt20 final.

why SL have a good chance to beat Pak is cause they have a team to score 300 and Pak will have a difficult time chasing it. Although I am hoping for Pak victory
