Misbah won and Drew for 10 years in the dessert with an attack of 4 bowlers, 2 of them being spinners. He had the same batsman, just one better in younis. After misbah retires, sarfraz should have gotten an easy win in the dessert against a stick Lanka who was losing to everyone. Instead their new players beat sarfraz. The reason was simple, Pakistan played one proper spinner. If that series was not enough, Mickey sarfraz and inzamam showed us that they really do lack planning and a brain. they again select one proper spinner, one who is recovering from injury, and an injured all-rounder who does not look like a test bowler but is one of their best players in loi with the world cup a few months away. So if I was the media I would be ripping all three to shreds asking them one simple question: there are so many spinners in Pakistan performing, forget if not one of them is an offspinner, why is not a single one of selected against a team who is supposed to be weak against spin?????? Why are you playing one proper spinner when you have been winning here for 10 years now in every game with 2 spinners?????
How can these people be so blind like honestly, things like this are club level. Indians are playing 3 front line spinners and Pakistan is here looking clueless with one spinner. Things like this I can't blame the players, they give their best but the people running the show literally have zero brain power.

That's Mickey's psyche. Fast bowlers + allrounders. Especially with Yasir struggling you need another genuine spinner around.

The reason some good spinners like Gohar, Asghar and Kashif Bhatti haven't had a chance yet.

It costed us the SL series and it will cost us the Aus series as well.

Mickey isn't a good coach for asian conditions. No experience, doesn't watch domestic cricket, no real idea of backstory of Pakistani cricket (e.g. didn't even know Irfran struggled to bowl 10 overs in a game). And I don't think he's well advised/informed by others.

Struggles in the PSL despite having the strongest team on Paper most editions. Failed with Azhar and Sarfraz in longer formats as he has to take the lead in captaincy. Sarfraz knows how to captain in T20s so he's fine there. Misbah was clearly the brains in test captaincy.

He also usually gets team selection wrong before eventually getting it right. Learning through experience, as he knows he's got no previous knowledge to guide him.

Most important thing for a coach is at least being able to know how to play in Asian conditions. We play over 70% of our cricket there. And even higher percentage of games we realistically can win in asia. I would rather win a series in asia instead of draw, then getting beaten slightly more respectable in say SA.

I don't think the chief selector is at fault either. There have been lots of players who have entered in the team performing from the start. Fakhar, Babar, Hasan, Shadab, Asif Ali, Imam etc. It's how they decline once they're in the team. Which kind of shows Selector is doing his job, it's the coaches fault. Inzi even picked Ashgar for UAE last time and Mickey didn't pick him. If Imam was around, think Mickey would have gone with him. No point picking players which Mickey isn't going to play anyway.

Inzi didn't pick shadab, fakhar, Hasan, Asif Ali. They got themselves selected by their performances in psl. They looked a class apart in psl and next guy that I like is agha salman.

I thought Bilal Asif was an off spinner or did i miss something. Bilal, yasir and hafeez parttime make 3 spinners..all of them performed..whats wrong with that
