The title says it all. We had spinners like Abdul Qadir, Saqlain Mushtaq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Danish Kaneria, Saeed Ajmal, Yasir Shah (Current) and we fail against even part timers like no tomorrow.

Your thought please!!!!!!!!

Problem is that other spinners are no longer ordinary - and with video tech etc, a lot more is known about weaknesses of our batsmen as well.

they cant play left arm orthodox.
moeen ali, dilruvan perera even lyon barring that time when he took 4 wickets in no time, have been handled with no issues.

the only left arm orthodox i've seen pakistan handle with ease is john holland,

Shudder to think pak batsman facing Eng spinners... wouldn’t cross 140

Left arm spinners have always been a weakness. Monty, vettori..and many others on any strip with a bit of bounce and turn. I remember Sarfraz batting outside leg and playing turning balls with ease in a match to chase a big score to win..was it the 300 in Sri Lanka or UAE. So we can play..

ANYWAY it’s all to do with confidence..we get under pressure straight away then any lalloo spinner runs riot. But not even spinners .. average pacers even getvus when pressure is on. Just think of Marcus north in England 2010 or Zimbabwe against younis and misbah in 2012.

The main weakness is against left arm finger spin however the substandard domestic FC pitches don't help when it comes to spending time at the crease against spinners. Ideally pitches should be flatter and should deteriorate naturally.

Also the other reason why we struggle against left armers like Herath, Ajaz Patel and etc is because there is a vast majority of right handers in the side - 5 of the top 7. Replacing Hafeez with Fakhar would help readdressing this balance.

In addition the best player of spin in the side has been discarded for this series. I don't believe he's injured otherwise he wouldn't have played in the ODI series. He scored twin 50s in that last test against Australia, so it was unjust for him to be "rested". In doing so, Pakistan deserves to be humiliated against NZ. At least this way Inzy will learn his lesson with what happens when you drop your best player of spin.
