Why do shadab ( and less so Imad) not get the support I believe they deserve on this forum.

Shadab is performing a difficult art, and we saw what it was like when he was not hear. Do we really want Yasir or Mohamad nawaz!!

The guy has so much batting potential, but his bowling is bloody vital.
He has been important to both our wins and didnt play in both our losses.

Yes he will have bad days, but that goes with legspin bowling in the modern era.

Imad also gets a bit of flak but he is fine as the 5th bowler and is often the most economical , even when it is a very high scoring day)

I don't get it.
These 2 should be the on the team sheet always as bowler number 4 and 5.

( Nowhere in this am I saying they are the finished articles and don't need to improve!!))
I genuinely don't get the hate

It's because there is a prima donna aura about them.

They think that they are bigger stars than they actually are.

shadab has one of the highest potential ceilings in ability terms of all the pak youngsters. hes barely two years into his career and holds his place in the team as a leggie, then is a gun fielder and fighting batsmen to boot. he needs to keep his head straight and will be in the team for years across all three formats eventually.

imad is a very useful crickter but is as good as he'll ever be. his bowling is defensive and his batting useful on occassion. his fielding is nothing special. he performs a role and as long as hes doing that he stays in the odi team.

Yeah but Imad does not take wickets, a defensive bowler, does not take a risk and that's boring for a Pakistan spinner. He is ok to tie to an end up when we play non asian teams.

Personally I would just want him in T20s after the world cup. Need to move on from him in ODI's.

Shadab is one for the future has so many potential batting wise too, imad is a decent striker/bowler but i don't think that he will last, palying zafar as a bowler is much better(zafar can hit few too) and there are better striker.

Both are mediocre.

Imad cannot buy a wicket right now and has never won a game for Pakistan with the bat.

Shadab is an average leggie who will give you one 'hit me' ball an over.

One dimensional players

Imad wasim is a batsman who can pinch in like a tailender and does the same with the bowl too
Shadab khan looks like a test player playing odis

Imad = Can't take any wicket, a darter. Batting, he's not a finisher and will never win you games, doesn't have the power game. Can't impact the game with bat or ball.

Shadab = Decent on his day with the ball and can take wickets, has some utility, should get more consistent. Not good enough with the bat.

Imad is the true definition of a railu katta, no place in ODIs. While Shadab should stick to bowling and get better at it.

I think Shadab gets plenty of recognition. Especially earlier in his career, recently he's been injured and out of form so perhaps that's why

Imad is just an ordinary cricketer. Economical bowling and 20's/30's don't really deserve much recognition.
He'll get recognized once he starts winning games for Pakistan

I think Shadab actually gets way too much recognition which he doesn’t deserve. He’s overhyped by so many people.

The amount of support Amir gets when he comes onto bowl is ridiculous, in a good way. It has been the case every game I've attended however other bowlers don't get 20% of that support, unless they get a wicket. It's a bit unfair how Amir is a fan favourite. I think Sahab has been bowling just as well and hardly ever gets the crowd behind him, same goes for Shadab.

This imad guy rarely misses out on cameos and at least an average spell. Fairly dependable even with limited strokes. Bits and pieces player alright. But a good one.

Ye

Noticed that too, pretty annoying when you see Shaheen/Wahab not getting the same support. If anything the crowd should have Shaheen's back who is going through an injury and still bowling.

Imad doesnt deserve to be in the 50 over side. He simply isnt good enough in any facet. What exactly is his speciality? To be defensive and to score a run a ball 25? Thats not enough

Imad Wasim is the weak link in our bowling attack. He has got to learn to vary his pace and keep the quick deliveries as a surprise weapon but for the most part he has to bowl in the 46-48 mph range as oppossed to 54-56 mph. Also Sarfaraz has got to be more flexible with his bowling options and think on his feet. Haris Sohail is not a darter unlike Imad and should be trusted with an over or two to see how he is doing and if his bowling his effective then give him 5 or even his full quota of overs

In the selected squad of 15 there are no other options, Imad will play, has to reduce his pace while bowling and hope he fires with the bat.

Shadab bowled well. And full credit to him for pitching it up to de Kock when he was cutting loose. He also deceived almost all other batsmen with his variations.

Even against England, Shadab's strikes were crucial. He may not be world class at the moment but can become one if he keeps himself grounded.

Imad - there's no point replacing him with a batsman or a bowler because at present, he's playing a good little railukatta role and scoring/bowling as well as other batsmen or bowlers.

shadab is doing well but the fact that his bowling is not improving and his batting is declining is worrisome.

Imad wasim is bits and pieces and needs to be replaced.

An average of 40 at a strike rate of 109 would suggest you are very wrong. Open your eyes, he has played many power knocks. What have you been watching? Sheesh.

Shadab could have had 4 out yesterday in no time, but for missed opportunity for the 4th and people here saying his bowling not improving. That too coming back from serious illness. Sarfraz also took him off too quickly just because he was hit for a 6, even when he gave Pak breakthrough.
His effort for the catch was also very good.

What recognition? They have received far more they deserve.

Both haven't actually done something great yet, although Shadab is miles better than Imad and has far more potential if he works on his bowling instead of showing off.

Imad's limit as a bowler is 10 overs, 0-50. This is not the 90s anymore when such containing bowlers were useful.

Now the only way you'll contain these explosive batting lineups is by taking wickets, especially in the middle overs, and Imad is simply not a wicket-taker in ODIs. Imad only has utility in T20s in UAE with his fast, accurate, wicket-to-wicket darts.

On the other hand, India have been winning series even in non-spinning conditions in Aus, NZ and SA with Yadav and Chahal.

Shadab meanwhile is not a reliable frontline spinner, averaging 37 vs top teams in ODIs. He needs two full seasons of FC cricket to work on his control and stock delivery. However he seems more interested in playing every two bit T20 league.

I haven't even mentioned this so-called all rounder's dreadful ODI batting figures. These bits and pieces players are not reliable matchwinners.

Both praised by Mickey Arthur

"Other candidates for captaincy assuming Sarfaraz Ahmed was removed: Imad Wasim would've come into the equation. Mohammad Amir has an unbelievable cricket brain, but possibly not in a captaincy role, maybe VC. A guy who I think is a genuine leader, everything he does tells me leader. He trains the house down. He's a forceful character, in a nice way and I don't think he'd be scared of hard decisions and people will shoot me down, but I think Shadab Khan has all the attributes of captaining Pakistan. Saifi would go to him a lot on the field in terms of getting angles right. He's very mature. That was another possibility. I get excited when we're talking about these guys captaining Pakistan, they're all young guys who have come through the ranks and are developing into quality intl. cricketers and that makes me happy. The more leaders Pakistan can have going forward, the better"
